High School Musical: The Musical: The Series 3X1: Happy Campers

I'm not sure if I like this yet. I'm choosing to withhold judgment until I see a few more episode. But, I will say, if I'm anyone in this episode, I'm 100% Carlos. This would be one of my worst nightmares. Lol. Maybe that's why I'm on the fence about it. It seems like such a miserable way to spend the summer.

So, E.J., Gina, Ashlyn, Carlos and Kourtney are headed to the camp. E.J. is beyond excited and gushing about everything. He cannot wait for everyone to have as wonderful of a time at camp as he always does. Gina seems pretty excited too. That might be because she and E.J. are together and that's just making her happy, but she's also ready to try out for an actual leading part.

Kourtney and Carlos both seem less than thrilled, though. Carlos has brought an entire wardrobe, and Kourtney seems to be afraid of everything. But, E.J. has promised a mystery celebrity, so we'll clinging all our hope on that. Turns out it's Corbin Blue (who I'm pretty sure was in the original movie) and everyone loses their minds.

We also find out that they are doing a documentary about the show this summer that will air on Disney+. (I tried to look it up- not that hard, but still- and I cannot figure out if that is a real thing that aired). They are doing Frozen and everyone is thrilled (I'm not. I didn't love Frozen). However, we also find out that we've got no director. The camp thought Corbin was directing, so the director quit. But Corbin is only directed the documentary, not the musical. So the recruit E.J. to do it.

Meanwhile, Nini is headed to southern California on a road trip with her moms, so she won't be at camp. Also, she been working with the music producer and he's asked her to write a song a day, which seems insane, but I don't write music so maybe that's normal.

Miss Jenn is going on a cruise with Ricky's dad, so I guess she made her choice. We don't hear anything about Robot Guy, but I assume if Jenn picked the other guy, he's at Caltech.

And speaking of Ricky, he's not at camp either. Why, you ask? Because he's been busy dating (?) Lily. WTAF. Is he insane? Why would you do this? He's supposed to spend a couple of week with her family in Wyoming (I think), but she hasn't packed and then she makes him do, like a dozen TikToks (which he does not look excited about). Finally, it's time to leave and he knocks something over and finds his harness that she stole.

Um, bitch has zero explanation. She was literally like, 'Maybe I'm just the girl who steals things, and you're the guy who gets mad about it, and then we're fine.' Huh? Also, she couldn't even call him by his name. This whole thing was ludicrous. But, thankfully, Ricky isn't that far gone and leaves. He drives himself up to camp and joins the others.

But, is something else happening when Ricky shows up? Gina and E.J. look like they've been caught doing something bad when he shows up. I'm blaming it on the fact that are maybe upset that he's been hanging out with Lily, but something about the two of them read very strange to me.
