Arrow 7X12: Emerald Archer

I was so thrown off in this episode. First we start with a movie opening, and then Lance shows up? Not that I wasn't happy, I miss Lance. But, I was very confused for awhile. Lol. Honestly, it was kind of refreshing to see something different that also mostly carried the storyline at hand.

So it takes a while (because I'm dumb), but eventually I realize we're doing some kind of documentary on vigilantes (which is kind of an awesome idea, actually) and Oliver and Co have a film crew following them around at all times. Plus, we get fun little cameos from Lance (apparently his was filmed a long time ago, as this never actually aired), Thea, Sara, Barry, Rory and probably more. But no Roy. Sigh.

Anyway, while the film crew is following us, we realize that there is an anti vigilante vigilante on the loose trying to kill, you guessed it, vigilantes. And, while we're trying to stop them, Emiko gets kidnapped, and the mayor is busy being a dick.

We all make the decision (although Oliver is pretty against it) to work together as a team (not that part) to draw Chimera out and then attack him. But, the rest of the vigilantes are still bound by the anti vigilante law, so if they get caught, they all get arrested. But, if they don't catch them, they could all end up dead. The mayor, for her part, is determined to debate Oliver on why vigilantes are bad at a town hall that night. So, they decide to let him go so Chimera will attack (with who knows how many members of the community there as well).

And, basically, as soon as Oliver starts speaking, he attacks. They mayor and Dinah try to evacuate everyone, while Oliver and rest of the team try to take him down. Unfortunately, he's got some crazy armor on that Felicity cannot deactivate remotely so the fight lasts way longer than it should. During which, a plate glass window is about to fall on (and kill) the mayor and Dinah uses her sonic scream to save her, outing herself as a vigilante.

Eventually, Oliver hits Chimera's suit in the correct spot to take down the armor and we save the day. Huzzah. But, the mayor is less thrilled than the rest of us are. She immediately rounds up Dig, Rene, and Curtis and arrests them. Fuck that bitch, am I right?

They next day, Dinah shows up and turns in her badge. She refuses to run a department that arrests her friends. And then, Oliver shows up and wants to turn himself in, claiming if his friends go to jail, so does he. But, mayor surprises us by deciding to deputize them all. So, starting tomorrow, we all work for the police. (Does that include Felicity?)

And then we get, what I assume is a flash forward. Two people I don't know (but the girl looks familiar) are watching the vigilante documentary. Apparently, no one ever got to see it as it was banned. But, after watching the footage, the girl brings them to (what I think is) the old Team Arrow bunker. She's not pro vigilante, blaming them for what happened to Star City, but I feel like we might be making tiny steps towards figuring out what exactly happened.
