When you finally step out from beneath the shade of the forest, you find yourself surrounded by the stumps of freshly felled trees in a clearing devoid of color.
The river has run dry here, and the south bank is lined with jagged stakes to prevent anyone crossing without using the bridge. A crudely assembled palisade looms over the scene, built from the bones of the forest.
