Well my frequent flyer punch card is looking mighty healthy, how's yours doing? (For those of you who don't do the frequent flyer danse macabre or who aren't my mom, they don't actually use punch cards for your mileage, BUT THEY SHOULD.)
A few short weeks ago I was in Brooklyn, New York working on this video with our friends at Atlas Obscura. I got to wander around Most Holy Trinity Cemetery with Atlas Obscura's fancy pants team and equipment (anything that's not my iPhone is "fancy" when I'm shooting on location), and yammer on about how very cool this magnificent, mouldering, metal cemetery is. It really is something out of a death 'n' decomposition fever dream – glorious.
I really hope you like this video. We've got more ideas in the works for stuff (industry term) with Atlas Obscura in the future. Don't worry, I'm not abandoning the scrappy, joie de vivre style of Ask a Mortician. OH NO. But it was definitely fun to play with Atlas Obscura's toys for a bit. But I've said too much! More to come...
This week I'm in San Francisco attending End Well, talking with other death folks, advocates, and innovators about well, ending well. It's a fast and furious couple days but I'm happily in my element. Learning more things to add to the deathy stew pot.
I've got lots more mileage to add to the ol' frequent flyer dance card next year, so if you like videos like this you're in luck! Stay tuned deathlings, 2019 will be a doozy.
Stirring the pot in life and death,
Caitlin
