So, even though Zoe has decided to stay, the town certainly isn't making it easy on her. Brick is pissed that she's still here and demands George to find a loophole in the will that will allow him to take the practice from her. And while it isn't a loophole per se, he does find an issue. In order to keep the practice, she needs to bring in at 30% of the revenue. Which is a huge problem because most of the town hates her and refuses to see her. (Especially since she keeps making honest mistakes that make the citizens of the community think she's a terrible doctor).
In order to get more patients, the mayor decides that Zoe should ride on his float in the Founder's Day parade. Zoe thinks this is stupid and that the town should just go see her because she is a good doctor, but short of other ideas, she agrees.
However, shortly after, Betty (Butter Bitch's cousin) comes into the office looking for Brick. She fell and hurt her arm. He comes out and says he'll look at it. Zoe claims he has a full office and she can look at it now, but they all laugh at her and walk away. Later, Zoe finds her collapsed on the bathroom floor and the truth comes out, she's got MS. But, she refuses to tell anyone, and due to doctor/patient confidentially, Zoe can't say anything either.
But, she does continue to treat Betty. However, when she tells Betty she can't dance on the float, she claims she had to. She refuses to tell anyone what's wrong with her and them look at her with pity. So, Zoe tells her to tell them, she checked her out again and found a should tear. Betty seems super happy with that. However, the next time Zoe sees her, she's without her swing and ready to dance.
Zoe pleads with her about how it's a bad idea. Especially on a moving float when MS affects her balance and her muscles. But Betty insists. Zoe gives her some meds and tells her to only take one because they are strong. Wanna guess whether or not she listens?
On the day of the parade, her legs go rigid while she's dancing and she panics and takes a bunch of the pills. Thankfully, Zoe is on the float next to her and sees this go down. So, she crashes the float to cause a distraction and gets Betty back to her office. Turns out, she was about to OD on the meds. But, Zoe did something doctor-y and she's better now.
By the end of the episode, Betty still hasn't told anyone and has let Zoe take the fall for ruining the parade. (I mean, she did, but it was for a really good cause). I really hope that Betty eventually tells someone, because I HATE that everyone in town is being so mean to her, when all she did was try to save someone.
Oh, also, Zoe is trying to get into the Harley spirit and heads over to the patient who thought she had the black plague. And just ends up spending some time talking to her. It seems like she's really trying. And in my opinion, you can never fault people for that.
Why is George with Butter Bitch? I know he explained it last episode, but she's such a bitch that no explanation would work for me. He's like the most laid back, patient person. I guess that's how he manages to put up with her, but he deserve so much better. And Zoe cannot start hooking up with Wade. Please. For the love of god. It's the mayor or George. But not Wade.
