Outlander 7X14: Ye Dinna Get Used To It

Okay, we're getting back into the history and military lore of the show. This is where I get confused. So far, so good (I think, but as always feel free to explain things I didn't get right), but I feel like my stupidity is going to start showing again soon. Lol.

Jamie is busy trying to lead a bunch of soldiers. He's trying to be both friendly, and stern. So far, I think it's working out. Not too far away, Claire is seeing patients, when she comes face to face with John. She calls over Jamie and they bring him up into the house. It turns out, Jamie broke is orbital bone and a muscle is wrapped around the fissure. So Claire needs to grab a hold of his eye and pull it out. Fun. But, as soon as she does that, he's able to move his eye again, so that's good.

At John's house, Jamie and Claire host a slew of who's who of solider types as we prep for the upcoming war. One of the guys there is someone who John knows (they speak in French an I couldn't see the subtitles, but it seems like maybe you used to be together). Either way, he's someone that John trusts. And he tells John that William is being set up. He's been given a message to bring to some German (I think) soldier. But the message says that he should use William as leverage to get John back in the army (if I understood correctly). And torturing him wouldn't be out of the question. Jamie cannot go (as he's got 300 men to lead), so John offers. Jamie sends Ian with him. But, William has already been at camp for a while. I have no idea how there will be enough to time for them to get there and save him.

And speaking of saving, before all this went down, William was trying his best to save Jane and her sister from Captain Harkness. (I only remember this name because of Torchwood). Apparently, the lady of the brothel planned to sell her ten year old sister's virginity, and fucking Harkness was the lucky winner. So Jane killed him. Now she's here looking for protection against him from William, which he gives freely. He tries to set her up with a job as a laundress, but she has no idea what to do. Instead, she tries to pay him with her body, which he doesn't want. But, either way, he plans to keep the two of them safe. (Although, he might be dead soon, so I have no idea how that will work then).

I guess Briana is planning to head back through the stones to find Roger. Things are not working out so well in 80s for her right now. Rob keeps trying to kidnap Jemmy. Brianna tries to shoot him (I remember her having better aim in the 1700s), but fails. The cops are useless. It seems like the only think left to go, is go find her husband.
