The Fosters 1X16: Us Against the World

I was so sure that this scavenger hunt that Jude was on was not going to be from Callie and I was just waiting for his heart to get crushed. I'm so pleased that it didn't turn out that way. I feel mostly indifferent about Jude, but I don't want him to suffer.

So Callie is back at the Foster's. And Brandon is not. Apparently, the moms have now decided that it's fine if he moves in with Mike (even though they were appalled by the idea when he first suggested it). Callie seems very disappointed by this, but honestly, it's probably a good idea. Especially if they are going with this, 'we need to get over each other plan,' which I have no idea if I want to happen or not.

I feel so bad for Zac. Mariana is just toying with him and it's obvious he really likes her. I don't think she means what she's doing, but she's totally into hot senior. If it weren't for that random Ouija scene last episode, I'd think she has no idea about Zac. Anyway, she and Callie go to a party where pretty much the whole town is in attendance. Frustrated with Kelsey one upping her for hot senior, Mariana takes a drunk Tayla's advice (why is she still here?) and slips her underwear into his pocket.

Now. I don't blame hot senior one bit for expecting that Mariana wanted to have sex with him. It is such a brazenly clear signal. At least from my point of view. However, once the realized they were not on the same page, his douchbaggery is all him. Fuck that guy. He and Kelsey 100% deserve each other.

Also, at the party, Brandon is talking to one of the guys on the wrestling team (I think?) about how to make extra money. You know, since he stole Mike's money and gave it to Ana to lie about her shooting testimony (we'll get to that later). So they decide that Brandon will steal Lena's keys and break into the school to make fake IDs and sell them. Fun.

While all this is happening, Stef gets served with papers to testify in court about the shooting, since Ana claims to have seen it. However, before she gets a chance, Brandon meets with Ana and offers her his piano lesson money to lie and say that she was at the shelter with Jesus. (Where the hell is Jesus this episode? No one needs to wrestle that much. I assume the actor was just busy đŸ¤ˇâ€â™€ī¸). She takes him up on it.

However, Stef doesn't know this, and tells the truth about what happened when she's under oath. She lied and wasn't actually unconscious. Somehow, with Ana changing her story, it doesn't really seem to matter that she lied. I mean, IA is gonna be keeping tabs on her and Mike, but it seems like it all worked itself out.

Apparently, Jude and Callie are the only ones who know what his actual birthday is. And it's now. Callie sets up this elaborate scavenger hunt to give him a book. It's really quite sweet. And then, leads him downstairs where the family (you know, minus Jesus) is waiting with a party. She tells him, they have a family now so they should know his birthday. Also, he's 13? I could have sworn he was, like, 10.

Oh, also, Brandon has told everyone about him and Callie. He was sick of people saying she ran off with Wyatt (which she totally did), so he set the record straight. This is so gonna come back to bite him in the ass, isn't it?
