I'm not sure how I feel about Elena and her vampire-ness. At first I thought they were gonna just have Bonnie magically fix it, and I was not happy. But, then, when she did turn into a vampire, I thought the transition was too easy. And she accepted this as her fate too quickly. I hope we get more a struggle as we go forward. But, I LOVE petty Damon and all is comments about Stefan respecting her choices.
So, Elena wakes up having no idea she's in transition. Stefan and Damon have to explain it to her. She not happy. Stefan tells her Bonnie is looking into how to stop it, and Damon tells it's better for her to just feed now. Damon insists she's got a whole day for Bonnie work, so they don't need to rush it.
Meanwhile, the pastor has taken over as head of the council and is busy rounding up all the vampires in town. Why they don't just kill them I have no idea. Isn't the ultimate plan to kill all the vampires? Why just lock them up as opposed to killing them? Anyway, the pastor takes Elena, but doesn't realize she's in transition and is trying to help her understand why vampires are bad. But it seems like he gets it after not too long and she ends up in a cell next to Stefan and Rebekah.
Rebekah and Caroline were both getting picked up and transported, but when Klaus, in Tyler's body, hears this, he runs over to the van, busts in and saves Caroline (who is thrilled that Tyler is alive) leaving Rebekah behind. However, Rebekah realizes quickly that this is Klaus. Caroline, meanwhile, does not realize as quickly. She trying to get them out of their clothes as soon as possible so they can have, 'holy shit, you're not dead sex.' However, when 'Tyler' calls her love, the jig is up and she knows it's Klaus.
Back in the cell, Elena is busy dying because she hasn't fed. But Bonnie has a plan and she 'kills herself' to go to the other side and drag that Elena into the side of the living. It's working too, until grams shows up and warns her off, claiming the dark magic she's using has too many consequences. Afterwards, Elena is sure she's dying and tells Stefan that he was the one she was coming back for. She had chosen him. Rebekah and Stefan than tag team kill a guard so Elena can feed and not die.
Shortly after, Damon shows up and bites Matt, planning on trading an innocent kid for Stefan and Elena. But, the pastor is not interested. Damon is super pissed that Matt is alive though, and starts to beat him up. Elena, as a vampire, speeds over to get Damon to stop. (How did she get free?)
Anyway, she tells Damon that she remembers all the times he compelled her to forget. However, she also leads Damon to believe that it wouldn't have mattered if she remembered. I don't know if I believe that, buy Damon certainly does.
Bonnie attempts to use dark magic again to get Tyler and Klaus back in the right bodies, but grams shows up again. But this time, the witches are punishing her for Bonnie's rebellion. I don't know exactly what happened, but grams is in a lot of pain and disappears. Bonnie collapses, screaming.
Rebekah, pissed that Klaus saved Caroline and not her, starts destroying the bags of Elena's blood, which prevents him from making more hybrids. He claims she's nothing to him and snaps her neck.
And then we get to the end, which I do not understand. Why would the pastor want the council dead? He gets them all into the house and then blows it up. They can't kill vampires if they're dead. What is happening here?
