So, Ricky ends up being late for rehearsal as he's just found out his parents are splitting up. Meaning, E.J. has to step in as his understudy. But, Nini is pissed at him since he stole her phone and they have a horrifically awful time singing together. It's actually good, how terrible is was. Lol.
Ricky finally shows up, but with him being late and Nini and E.J. being awful, she just decides to call it a day. But, reminds them to leave their personal lives at home. However, when Ricky meets with her in her office and explains why he was late, she's actually very sweet to him about it.
E.J. is busy trying to apologize, but Nini has decided she's had enough. She blocks his number and breaks up with him. (I'm old. Do people actually get notified when you block their number? No, right?).
Ricky decides to stay at Red Head's for the night, not wanting to deal with his parents, but between Red Head being annoying, his CPAP machine, and his 'soothing' white noise machine, he bails and heads over to Nini's. Her mom has told him he can stay on the couch. When he gets there, Nini is upstairs writing a song, but she comes down and her mom (could have been Ricky) tells her what happened.
She and Ricky have a lovely moment and it seems like she's caught up in it, and they almost kiss. At the last minute, she pulls back claiming she needs to get him some better pillows or something, and when she comes back down, he's gone. I would feel fine if they got back together. I'd also be fine if they didn't. I don't really feel strongly either way here.
But Gina is back to her scheming ways. She's convinced E.J. that by taking her to the Homecoming dance, he'll get Nini back. I assume she thinks Nini will be jealous, but she's totally going to see right through that, yeah?
Meanwhile, Nini has written another song (that seems to happen a lot) and it's quite good. I don't know who's writing these songs, but a lot of them are pretty good.
