Okay, so while this episode was so much better than the last one (even if we only get 4 seconds of Felicity), I can't be the only one who's annoyed about the fact that Oliver goes to Anatoly for help, right? The whole thing right now is that he's supposed to be doing this alone. You're going to let Anatoly help you and not Felicity? Come on Oliver.
Anyway, Oliver heads to Moscow to fix things so Anatoly can go home and rejoin the Bratva. And, while Anatoly says he appreciates it, it doesn't keep from chaining him up and delivering him to Diaz, despite Oliver's plea's that Diaz will turn on him.
But, when Diaz is beating Oliver while he's still chained up, Anatoly suggests a fair fight. Diaz agrees and they decide that whoever loses will leave Star City forever. It's a pretty even fight for awhile, but eventually, Oliver ends up victorious. He's got Diaz in a hold where he can snap his neck, but he asks Diaz to yield. Instead, Diaz bests him by stabbing him. He claims himself the victor stating that life isn't fair.
And then he tells Oliver that he can stay in Star City anyway, for the next 25 years to life. He's having Oliver arrested and revoking bail. Since, you know, it's got the whole city wired and can do whatever the hell he wants. Of course this ends up on the news and all the former members of team Arrow are watching as he gets escorted to prison. I assume this is how we're all gonna get back together; by saving Oliver and working together to take down Diaz.
Anyway, while all of this is going on, NTA and John team back up, as Rene is having some PTSA and it's not really safe for him to be in the field. Together they manage to stop some weapons shipment (with the help of ARGUS). By the end, it seems like they are all friends again. Curtis invites him to join NTA, but John declines saying he wants to see how the ARGUS thing plays out, but they agree to help each other and all seems well with them.
Meanwhile, Diaz is trying to get Laurel to have Quintin sign over some property for him. At first Quentin is upset that Laurel is being evil Laurel about it, but she swears, she's been held captive by him as much as anyone else. After remembering his own situation with Darhk, he caves and signs the papers in hopes to save Laurel from a fate similar to his own. It turns out, Diaz doesn't even want the damn property, he just wants to see if the mayor will play ball.
So, with three episodes to go, I assume we're going to have to work on breaking Oliver out of jail. I'm hoping that Thea and Roy come back to help. There is zero chance they don't hear about this, right? Even in Nanda Parbat or wherever the hell they are? The only issue is even if we take down Diaz, which I assume we have to do, the whole city is corrupt right now. How do we possibly fix that?
