The Fosters 1X7: Clean

Ugh. Why is Lena's ex causing problems? Like we don't have enough actually problems right now? I wish they had actually kicked her out of the house. I hate those people. You know, the ones who never really say anything truly bad, but have obvious ill intent?

So, Lena's ex comes to town and they decide to have dinner with her. No idea why. And Stef and the ex gang up on Lena to embarrass her. What are you doing Stef? it's almost like she's trying to make the ex like her. It's weird. Lena is obviously freaked out (with good reason). And then Stef invites her over to the house the next day. What are you doing woman?

At the house, Mariana (the only one who is home) is fawning over the fact that she knows celebrities. But then, ex drops the big bomb, she and Lena broke up because she didn't want to get married, and Lena did. Stef is shocked. She thought they were on the same page about their commitment being enough, but now, after all this time, she finds out that Lena actually wants to get married.

Callie and Wyatt go on an actual date. He's been sort of giving her the cold shoulder after she yelled at him when he defended her. She asks him to go to a silent movie with her. He shows up halfway through and they seem to have a good time. I would have murdered them if I was in that theatre (they talk LOUDLY through the whole damn thing), but they seem happy. But, I cannot figure out if Callie wanted to be kissing him. It sort of seems like she's turning away whenever he kisses her (and she doesn't actually seem to kiss back, just sort of touches his lips) but she's smiling and giggling. I don't know what to think here.

But the big story this episode is birth mom. Mariana and Jesus' birth mom calls the house since Mariana is ignoring her. Mariana tells her again that she has no money and she's not stealing anything for her to sell. But the next day, she tells Jesus that she's going to her place to tell her in person to leave her alone. Jesus agrees to go with her as it's not a great part of town.

When they get there, it's basically a crackhouse, but Ana is so happy to see Jesus. And it seems like Jesus is affected by this too. He has adamant for so long about not being in touch with her and it seems like one hug does him in. He's just a child. Of course seeing his mom for the first time in a long time is gonna make him feel something.

Anyway, Mariana tells her that they are not giving her anything and she needs to leave them along. Ana says she needs the money to get out of this house. She's in an abusive relationship and needs to be free. Mariana says, 'I thought the money was for rehab,' and Ana swears it was, but now this is a bigger issue. Either way, this hits Jesus hard.

Once they are bad at the house, Mariana tells him that Ana will get inside his head and he just has to say no, no, no. He's agrees with her, but it turns out, he's been looking into shelters where she can go. When he broaches Mariana about it, she says no. And when Jesus tells her it's free, Mariana tells him she asks for money for food, or toothpaste or whatever. It's never ending. And she's not wrong. It's the life of being around an addict.

So, with Mariana not on board, Jesus heads over to the house himself with the info on the shelters. But, the boyfriend answers the door and that's the last we see of him. Mariana is desperately trying to get in touch with him, but he's not answering his phone or her texts. Worried, she finally breaks down and tells her moms what's going on.

Stef grabs her gun and heads over to the house. As soon as she gets there Mike shows up (oh yeah, Mike's on desk duty for drinking too much) as Lena called him for back up. The door is ajar and when they enter the house the first thing they see are a bunch of drugs on the table. The pull guns and walk through the house. We are not privy to what happens in there, but there are, like, 7-9 shots that are fired and then it fucking ends. Why do you hate me show? I mean, I assume Stef is gonna be fine, and I also feel like Jesus might not even be there anymore, but still WHY?

Also, I feel like (and don't tell me) Jude might not end up sticking around. I feel like he might just disappear one day never to be mentioned again. Lol.
