So, fake Laurel is pretending to be real Laurel. This isn't going to get confusing for poor Quintin at all.
But, who cares? WE'VE GOT ROY BACK! I have no idea if I'm the only one who has such a love of Roy. I mean to be fair, Thea being all like, 'Roy being safe is the only reason I'm still alive,' was sweet and all, but you haven't mentioned him in seasons, love. I'm going with it because I love Roy, but honestly, her intense love for him kind of came out of nowhere. It would have been so much more powerful if she'd ben occasionally mentioning him over time. But again, who care? ROY!
We're about to get the case against Oliver dropped since Rene's testimony was based on Cayden James' info which was gotten illegally. However, when the lawyer is in front of the judge, the prosecutor tells them they have another witness willing to testify, and it's Roy. They all sort of know immediately Roy wouldn't be doing this of his own accord. He's probably getting threatened.
Felicity finds out where he is, and Oliver and John go do some recon and find out that he's just being beaten inside a hotel room. Fun. They come up with a play, that Thea insist on being a part of, which actually works because they need a small person. She hides in a vent until he's alone and then jumps down and cuts him free. However, the bad guys are back almost immediately. She tries to get him out with her, but he's too injured and she weights, like, twelve pounds, so they can't manage it. She refuses to leave him though, so Oliver shoots an arrow at her and scoops her away.
Back in the bunker, Thea is despondent, but Oliver promises they will save Roy. And when they do, he thinks they should leave together. No thank you. We can 100% afford Roy staying if we fire NTA. Someone send me back in the past and let me talk to the producers.
Anyway, they end up taking Roy to the lair (I guess?) of Diaz. Laurel is there and leaks the info to Oliver. At this point, we're unsure which side she's working for. She claims she's just trying to play the part of original Laurel, but we're all still skeptical. However, her intel pays off (and no one is waiting for us, so she must be on our side, right?). We burst in and fight everyone, as we are wont to do.
It comes down to Oliver with an arrow at Anatoly and Thea facing off with Diaz who has just dumped Roy into a van. John insists Oliver leave him with Anatoly and he go help Thea. Once he gets out there, Thea is losing, and Oliver helps her. He holds Diaz at arrow point and instructs Thea to get in the van and drive Roy away. She does. But then, the actually cops show up and Oliver and John need to bail so both Anatoly and Diaz get away.
Thea brings Roy to the bunker where they diagnose him with some broken ribs and a concussion, telling him to take it easy for a few days. Thea takes him home with her. Roy didn't find a family the way she told him to, so they are about to have sex when some Ra's al Ghul chick is all like, 'I found the heir.' Great. So now we've got another villain? Maybe.
Also, back at Quintin's, Oliver stops by to thank Laurel for not setting them up. However, as soon as he leaves, Diaz texts her telling her she did a nice job, so I'm guessing maybe they wanted Roy back with the team? Please don't make Roy bad. I'll cry if they bring him back just for him to fuck shit up for us.
