Sons of Anarchy 5X1: Sovereign

Um, I'm sure I said this was the last season of SOA. For whatever reason I thought it was only 5 seasons, but it's actually 7. Whoops.

So things are pretty much immediately bad. The truck that we're using to run the guns and coke in getting attacked by the Niners. Phil (who has since been patched in) is driving and the truck flips. The Niners shoot it up and it ends up in flames. They ride away, Jax gets Phil free, and the rest of the guys salvage the goods- hiding them until later.

Meanwhile, Gemma wakes up in a room with some naked girls in it and what looks like a hell of an afterparty. When a guy, Nero, walks out of the bathroom, she pulls a gun on him, and he informs her they slept together the night before, it was consensual (um, she doesn't remember it happened, how consensual could it have been?), and they had a good time. He actually does seem like a nice guy, though. She leaves him her number and heads home.

When she gets there, she finds Unser, Clay and a couple of guys clearing Clay's stuff out. They thought she'd be at Piney's memorial, but she forgot about it, wha with the drunken sex (and since Clay killed him, he's not going either). Clay sorted tries to apologize while claiming he's not apologizes because he can't possible be forgiven. It's sort of manipulative, but also, he looks, acts, and sounds like a dying old man right now.

Bobby is out, huzzah! And Jax makes him the VP stating that Opie is taking some time away from the club. Bobby is the only person in the club who also knows that the CIA is involved, I think. They told Jax he could tell him. We also vote in 3 nomads. I'm sure I will never learn their names. And then Clay tells everyone that he killed Piney. He claims it was in self defense, but still, since he killed a member, they have to vote on whether or not to kick him out. This is gonna be an issue, as Jax needs him to stay in. And I have no idea if this is a vote that. needs to be unanimous, because if it does, he's gotta start laying on people.

There's a fucking hot mess of a fight between the Niners and SOA where Pope's guy tells one of the Niners that he's got to kill Jax. Then SAMCRO show up and he makes them leaves there guns on a car. The Niners show him they are not holding (you know, except the guy who is). But then the guy shots at Jax a couple of times, only to discover the gun isn't loaded. Jax beats him until he's yanked off. Pope's guy shoots and kills and now everyone is just supposed to be cool. What?

Pope is on the warpath trying to avenge is daughter's death. He finds out the Tig was responsible, and lures him out to pick up his daughter. However, when Tig gets there, he gets chained up and has to watch them set his daughter on fire. After she's dead, he manages to get free and kill the officer who is there to watch him.

Then, Unser gets a call that witness have also fingers Jax and Chibs shooting at the Niners on the highway. So, they decide to go into hiding. Tara wants him to turn himself in and Gemma says he got to run. Jax is sure they'll end up dead if they go to prison right now, so he sides with Gemma (much to Tara's dismay). She takes them to Nero's and tells them they can hide out there.

As this is happening, a bunch of masked guys break into Gemma's house and attack Unser (who is feeding the bird). And one of them has a prosthetic leg. Who do we know with a fake leg? I feel like I'm 100% supposed to know who it is, but I have no idea. Grrrr.
