Sons of Anarchy 4X14: To Be, Act 2

I'm sorry, what? The CIA is involved now? I can't tell if the CIA sent members to infiltrate the cartel, or if the cartel members are just working with the CIA. Either way, it's not good for Jax's chance at leaving Charming.

So, we at the IRA and cartel meet, ready to go. Potter has video of the whole thing. But just as they are about to start, Romeo and the other guy (still don't know his name) show up and we find out that the cartel has been working with the CIA. All the work Potter did is basically useless as RICO is off the table, since it's important to the government that this deal get made.

Jax, Romeo, and Galen meet, but Galen refuses to do business with anyone who isn't Clay claiming he doesn't trust Jax, and he certainly doesn't trust the cartel. The Irish leave saying that once Clay is out of the hospital, they'll set up another meet. Right after this, Romeo and Jax talk. Jax tells him he wants out. They are too small time for all this. However, this is when they reveal they are working with the CIA and this meet needs to happen. If Clay doesn't get better and show up at the meet, RICO is back on the table. But, if we can make it happen, it goes away and we can get Bobby out of jail. They also promise Jax that they had no intention of hurting Tara. They were just gonna debrief her and set her up with protection.

Afterwards, Jax goes to the hospital to see Clay. He takes out the syringe, but then puts it away and pulls out a knife instead. He tells Clay that he's stepping down as President. He can still be a member and get a vote, but that's it. If he doesn't agree, Jax will show the letters to everyone. He cuts the president patch off his kutte, and turns to leave. Clay tells him he should just kill him. But Jax can't since he needs him for the Irish/cartel deal. He leaves, and Gemma comes in hoping to see Clay dead. But when she finds him alive she just turns around and leaves too.

Jax tells Tara he can't leave. He tells her the situation with the CIA (even though the CIA told him not to tell anyone), and tells her she should still take the boys to Oregon. Then he meets with Opie and tells him that he's staying and taking over and wants Opie as his VP (don't like it- I love Opie, but I don't think he's really a leadership kind of guy). He tells Opie church in an hour, and he really wants him there.

When the members start to trickle into the 8pm meeting, they find Jax sitting at the head of the table, hold Clay's president patch. Tig goes to sit next to him, but Jax says no. He wants Chibs at his right hand. Big fan of this. Happy and Juice (oh, yeah, Juice is free now) come in as well, but no Opie. When Jax bangs the gavel at 8:03 the door opens, and it's Tara. She says she's staying with him in Charming. Then, Gemma shows up and sees Tara standing behind and supporting her man. Gemma does not look pleased. It seems like she's upset that she's not the #1 woman in Jax's life right now.

Oh, and also, I think that Potter ended up getting Charming Heights taken care of. He showed up at the hearing and dumped a bunch of sex toys on the table. Which, included a boy sex doll for pedophiles. I guess he assumes that if Charming knows where the money is coming from they won't want to build their town, but I don't know if it's gonna work. Money is money to so many people. But, also, this is a town that's allowed SAMCRO to roam free because they keep the seedier things out of town, so this totally might work.

And Jax hides the rest of the letters in a toolbox, but Gemma oversees. Jax. These letters are ridiculously important. Why are you not keeping better tabs on them? Why aren't you putting them somewhere that the whole club isn't every damn day? Why aren't you paying attention to your surroundings? You're smarter than that!
