Shameless 10X8: Debbie Might Be a Prostitute

Um, this episode would have been better if Debbie actually was a prostitute. But, we had the Ian and Mickey stuff, so that kept me going.

I'm going to immediately write off the Liam storyline. I do not care.

Lip and Tami are trying to figure out who should be the guardian to Freddie if they die. Lip refuses anyone from Tami's family, and she refuses anyone from his. Eventually, they both decide to not die. Solid plan guys.

Debbie goes back to the woman she had sex with and informs her that she's not a prostitute. She just thought they had a connection and wanted to sleep with her. The woman agrees, but then continues to buy Debbie expensive things. Eventually, Debbie tells her this makes her uncomfortable and they have an actual conversation and it seems like they've worked it out.

The mystery of the rich lady from last episode is that he bought drugs from her boyfriend (?) back in 1995. Frank got off with a slap on the wrist and her boyfriend got 45 years in jail. So she's torturing and tormenting him as payback for this. Frank remembers none of this. So that's fun for him. But, on the plus side, shitty stuff is happening to Frank.

And then we have the good stuff of the episode. Mickey and Ian's PO is murdered. And both of them think the other one did it. Separately, they both hear about spousal privilege if you're married, but Ian brings it up first. He 'proposes' to Mickey and Mickey seems genuinely happy about it.

While they are waiting at the courthouse to get married, they find out Ian's boss was arrested for the murder. Immediately after, they are called to sign the marriage license. Mickey signs, but he's sort of annoyed that Ian only proposed because he thought Mickey killed their PO. But, when it's Ian's turn, he doesn't sign. My heart is broken. I wanted this so badly for Mickey. Because he wanted it do badly. I hate this for him so fucking much.

Ian tries to talk to him about it afterwards, but Mickey doesn't want to hear it. He punches Ian and Ian tumbles down the stairs. I was so fucking sad. I'm rooting so hard for these two. I think if they could just get some therapy (not that Mickey would touch therapy with a ten foot pole) they would be alright.
