One Tree Hill 9X13: One Tree Hill

I kind of want to leave this blank as sort of a tribute, but I also wanna say stuff, so I'm going to try to keep it brief and have the best of both worlds.

Is it just me, or was the time jump at the end confusing? It felt like Jamie was ten, but then all of a sudden he was 18 and Nathan and Haley didn't age at all. Maybe I interpreted it incorrectly, but I had a hard time following at the end.

That said, I really wished Karen had made a cameo at the Tric 10 year anniversary. I didn't want Lucas and Peyton to show up, but I think Karen would have nice. An honestly, Brooke in Peyton's bedroom set, was the perfect amount of nostalgia.

I adored Clay and Quinn getting married and adopting Logan. It was absolutely adorable. How does this show manage to get all the cute kid actors? (Chuck excluded).

The conversation that Nathan has with Jamie at the River Court is perfect. Him explaining to Jamie that there probably is going to be expectations from other people because who his dad and grandpa are, but the only person's expectations that matter are Jamie's. Come on. It's such a nice father son moment that Nathan never got with his own father.

And Julian buying Brooke her childhood home that she was always sad didn't house a happy family. Julian. I'm so happy you exist. Brooke needed someone like you so badly. Thank you for showing up over and over and over again for our girl.

Naley, mac and cheese, Cracker Jack boxes, and bracelets. Nothing else needs to be said here.

Also, it probably goes without saying that I cried through most of the second half of this. And it's not cute crying either. Plus, I'm sick so that makes it even uglier. Lol.

Yeah. It just went from Jamie being a child, to him breaking Nathan record which seemed extreme in half an episode. But, I'm 100% willing to just go along with it. This show has given me so much, I'm not going to squabble over nit-picky stuff. Totally get that about the cast not wanted to change their appearance. I was just trying to use that as an indicator as to how much time had passed. Lol.

Oh no. That dude's a creep? I hate that. As a huge Neil Gaiman fan, I've been trying to figure out how to separate the artist from their art lately, so I'll just try to ignore him. I feel like I might want to do some extra OTH stuff occasionally. As it seemed there's a decent amount of it. Especially with the podcast. It might be fun to do some if these in a more relaxed manor.

Dana Licciardello

Ooh. Yes! I want to do this! I've got Joys' book on hold from the library. I'll consume all the OTH stuff I can at this point.

Dana Licciardello

Thank you for watching along with me. This was some of the most fun I've had. I love how much my opinions changed as time went by. I love how I didn't always know I felt about stuff. I love how my favorite people got lives they deserved. Right? This was nothing like my high school experience. I was a loner who barely graduated because I never showed up to school. But watching this show made me feel like I got to redo high school. It was so much fun!

Dana Licciardello

Neither can I! It went so quickly! 187 episodes. Ugh. I'm sad for myself.

Dana Licciardello

I really was. I already miss them. It's it's only been a day. Today was supposed to be a OTH reaction day. But there was no OTH. I loved this journey so much.

Dana Licciardello

Just watched the reaction. Poor Dana you were sobbing the whole episode ☹😄 Really enjoyed watching the series with you. The other day my gps took me past the Brooke Davis house 🏡 Super random but this episode reminded me of it 🙃

I have soo soo much to say and will probably write a paragraph later but for right now I will say that it has been an absolute honour going on this journey with you and seeing you react to the show for the first time and honestly I also didn't wan't it to end when I first finished it either and was also a crying mess when i watched the final for the first time because I loved the characters sooo much and wanted to continue watching thier lives vicariously.

If you’re looking for a thing to watch the close out the show, the cast did a night at a local college talking about the show when they were filming the last season. The bad news is the creepy creator is there too and a big part of it, but if you ignore him it’s so fun to hear about the show and see the cast together and answering questions on the experience of the show. I’ll link it below in case you want to react to it or even just watch it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GrjIfxOC7-A

They never really say when the time jump is. I always imagine that it's like 2023 because Jamie would be 17 at that point. The reason I believe that is because Jamie has broken Nathan's scoring record and I refuse to believe that he broke that after 1 or even 2 years in high school lol. The reason that Nathan and Haley don't look like they've aged is for a couple reasons. For one, the characters are just like 36. They were very young when they had Jamie as you know. But also I don't know if the cast wanted to drastically change their hair to show a change in time. Especially with James and his buzzcut... he didn't have time to grow it out so there was no way they could change his hair without doing a wig which would have looked weird :)
