Ugh. My god. The STRESS in this episode.
So, Michael gets Pope to transfer Lincoln to the infirmary, tell the guards all is well, sets up a contingency for the secretary, and locks him in a closet. He gets back to his cell five minutes before the escape is ready to begin. And Sucre is not handling it well. He's fidgety and nervous and throwing up.
As soon as the cells open, the PI crowd starts wandering over giving Michael their bleached coveralls. Once everyone is in place, we start the slow march of getting everyone into the hole. Poor Westmoreland is not in good shape, but he's carrying on as best he can.
On their way through the pipes, they run into Bellick who as partially freed himself and is screaming. Pocket Boy threatens to cut his windpipe out if he doesn't shut up. Then he sees Rat Boy and tries to rat on him, but Rat Boy pulls the tape back into his mouth, gagging him. Michael steals his uniform and they continue on.
Michael sets off the fire alarm in the Psych Ward and while everyone is out wandering around, they jump back in with the group. It's not perfect though as the psych guard notices something is up, but Michael injects with with a sedative so he's taken care of. They head through the psych ward and come up to the infirmary where they run into Lincoln.
The guy guarding Lincoln is all, 'they don't pay me enough for this shit, here, do whatever you want,' and gives over the keys to Lincoln's cuffs. Now it's just seeing if Tancredi left the door unlocked. And she did. They hurry inside and use a fire hose and the elevator to break the bars off the window. Now, all that's left is to shimmy down the cable and over the fence.
Lincoln goes first and as we're all waiting our turn, Westmoreland tells Michael he can't go any further. But tells him where to find the 5 million he stole as DB Cooper. A couple of the other guys hear this too, so that should be interesting.
After saying goodbye, it's Michael's turn with only Sucre's cousin left. Michael is just about to the wall, when the cousin jumps on. But the cable is not strong enough for both of them and breaks slamming Michael into the wall, and crashing cousin to the ground.
Just as this is happening, Pope is discovered and the alarms are triggered. Out come guards and dogs in force. Lincoln is able to pull Michael to safety, but cousin is caught. When he looks up, everyone is gone, so I guess we've got that to look forward to next episode. How are we getting another 4 seasons out of this?!
Meanwhile, Nick decides to send Veronica to Montana after all and sticks her in a cab to the airport. He then calls his dad and tells him to meet him at his apartment. But, when Nick gets there, Abruzzi's guy is holding his dad at gun point. When Nick won't tell him where Veronica is, he shoots and kills his dad. After Nick still won't tell him, he shoots and kills Nick as well. (I'm pretty sure. It was a little ambiguous, but I don't see how anyone could have survived that).
Fuck, this was intense. Seriously.
