So, I'm an idiot. I totally forgot that Slade was Deathstroke. He's been Slade for so long now that that's what I think of him as. π³
Anyway, it turns out Slade's son is in jail and he wants Oliver to help get him out. Turns out, Oliver is a bit of a celebrity and that will get him into the jail. Then he'll bribe the guard with $50,000. Or at least that's how I understood it.
However, when Oliver gets there, they tell him that his son died a few days ago breaking up a fight in the yard. Oliver returns to tell Slade the bad news, and they both head back over to see the body. But, surprise! He's not dead. He's been taken by some gang called the Jackals.
After finding this out, Slade tries to send Oliver home (he wanted diplomatic help, not Green Arrow help- he's very protective of Oliver's budding relationship with his son). He goes back to being Deathstroke and storms the building where they are keeping him, killing, 30 people. Eventually, he tells them that he'll join their gang if they give over his son. But, it turns out his son is the leader of the gang, so that won't work. (Which I totally called, and then took it back. Lol).
Meanwhile, back in Star City, the congresswoman who is sponsoring the anti-vigilante bill is targeted by Vigilante. Dinah is able to save her, but she's still a target. However, it turns out that Vigilante is Dinah's ex partner. Later, after she saves the congresswoman from him, he tells her that his meta power is super healing after to pulls a bullet out of his forehead with no consequences.
And, while all this is going on, Wilson is determined to nail Oliver for being the Green Arrow. She's now meeting with all of his associates (and it looks like she wants them too). Since Felicity is his alibi for many times the Green Arrow has been spotted, she asks Felicity if she would be willing to testify to that in court, claiming that if she lies, she'll be perjuring herself. But Felicity is all, like, sure (in a totally not sure Felicity way- why is everything she does so damn adorable?)
I'm surprised at how much I liked this episode. I was so into all the Slade stuff which I did not expect. I sort of expected to be annoyed that Oliver and Felicity were apart after they'd just gotten back together. But, happy to report, this episode was super fun!
