Am I the only one who thinks Stephen definitely knows more about the night of the accident than he's letting on? Right now I'm wondering if he was actually in the driver's seat when they hit the tree and tossed Macy over there when he realized he was dead. Is he really that bad of a person? Probably. π€·ββοΈ
So, Lucy's letter has immediate consequences. Drew immediately gets a visit from the school about the letter. He claims he doesn't know anything, but he's obviously upset about it (not like he wasn't already upset).
Once this comes out, Drew blames Pippa because, if you'll recall, Stephen got in his head about her knowing. However, it seems obvious that he knows it was Lucy. Later, he finds her sobbing on the floor of her dorm and she confesses telling him she was just trying to help him. He seems cool with this? I'm confused. Am I supposed to think that in the end they aren't horrible people? (Prior to this, we see Stephen at the tree where Macy died, crying. I thought he was crying because he was afraid he was gonna get caught, but this scene makes it seem like he actually was just upset about the situation.) Anyway, they tell each other they love the other and they seem happy. Odd way to end.
Before all that happens though, we've got to deal with Lucy's 'plagiarized' paper. She explains to her professor that she did write it, but she can't get back into her LiveJournal account. So, on Stephen's urging, she asks her mom to come down and confirm the story with her professor. (I so don't think this would actually count as 'proof' in the real world, but whatever).
However, the more interesting part of this, is how Stephen treats Lucy's mom. He's cold, rude, and abrupt. It seems like he trying to make sure that Lucy is dependent on him for her emotions. And when her mom calls him out on it (to Lucy, not him), Lucy, of course, defends him.
Later, we at a party where the 'who wrote the letter' finally comes out. Drew blames Pippa, loudly. She denies (obviously, she didn't do it) and swears she didn't tell anyone (lie, she told Lucy not knowing that Lucy already knew) but still, none of this is on Pippa. Eventually, Wrigley, Stephen, and Lucy come out and are privy to the argument. During the fight, Wrigley falls off the deck and messes up is knee, ending up in surgery.
In the hospital, he and Pippa have it out. She adamantly denies she had anything to do with he. He doesn't believe her and they end up breaking up. (I'm pretty sure. At least, Pippa thinks he broke up with her). Once she leaves, Stephen shows up and cheers him up. Seems like Wrigley is able to charm anyone (expect for maybe Bree right now- she's pissed at him about the camera).
Ugh. I hate that I don't watch the finale of this for 5 days! Why did I do this to myself? That said, I'm afraid we're going to end up with just as many questions as answers. Eek.
