So, it's 14 months later. The club is out of jail, Tara has given birth to a boy named Thomas, and Otto and Lyla get married.
Getting back to Charming is a bit of a shock for our boys. Turns out, a lot can happen in 14 months. Hale is putting up new real estate that's going to push out the people who live here (hell gentrification), Oswald ended up getting his land taken away anyway, Charming PD is no more and we're now under the control of the sheriff's department, and we've got some kind government project trying to get SAMCRO, the Russians, and the Real IRA put away via RICO (which I think we've tried already).
When Jax and Tara reunited, they discuss Jax wanting out of the club. He knows this is not the place to raise his kids. He's says he'll keep going for a bit, to set them up (this new Russian gunrunning business is going to be profitable), and then, when Clay's hands finally go and he has to step down, it will be the perfect time for them to get away.
Meanwhile, Clay is telling Gemma something similar. He knows he's only got a year or two left in his hands. So, he's trying to set the two of them up in the same way that Jax is. Gemma assures him, he'll still be able to ride, but he doesn't seem so sure.
On the day of Opie and Lyla's wedding, some of SAMCRO are planning to meet with the Russians inspect the guns they are getting from them. However, during the inspection, they end up shooting and killing, but 9 Russians. I understand that was the plan, but how are they going to continue this profitable business, if they've just killed all the people they were in business with? What am I missing here?
Oh, also, the government is now in league with the Charming sheriff. So they'll be working together. But, the government has a mole inside the Russian mob so they knew what was going down at the wedding. However, they sort of just decided to let it play out (which, again, meant all the Russians are dead). I have no idea if their guy on the inside died as well. Although, I'm not sure it matters from a strategic standpoint if everyone you've been watching is dead.
And poor Wayne is in bad shape. he has no job, he's depressed, his wife left him, and his cancer is getting worse. I hope SAMCRO takes him in as one of their own. Sort of like they did with Chuckie.
