One Tree Hill 9X5: The Killing Moon

Yes! This is the One Tree Hill I want! (You know, excluding all the Chase, Chris, Chuck stuff that I don't care about).

So, Nathan is literally missing. He never came home. Haley has left him more than a dozen messages and we've heard nothing. She goes to the police, but they claim that isn't really anything they can do until he's been missing for 24 hours (and suggests that it's not uncommon for a professional athlete to leave his wife- fuck you cop- you don't know Naley). After that, she goes to the airport to see if he was on the plane. The desk agent tells her he was on the flight and landed in Tree Hill. Haley leaves the airport and finds the pink moose discarded in the street.

When she gets back home, she starts to search the house and finds a bunch of money, Jamie's baseball, and Lydia's pictures in Dan's stuff. He catches her and she confronts him about it. She accuses him of getting rid of Nathan so he doesn't have to leave. (That was my assumption too, which means it's probably too on the nose and not Dan, but we're still going with it for now). He tells her he didn't do anything, and she agrees with him and says she's being silly and needs sleep. She goes to her bedroom and calls 9-1-1 telling them there's a murderer in her house.

Meanwhile, Julian cannot get over the fact that he forgot Davis in the car. He's sick with guilt and shame. He's supposed to take the babies to the sitter's, but instead brings Davis back to the doctor. He's fine, but the doctor prescribes him a day of rest. He goes to the cafe to talk to Brooke about it, but when he leaves, he finds a note on his car that says: Fry burgers, not babies. He's distraught and brings it to Brooke telling her he shouldn't be forgiven.

Brooke recognizes the handwriting as the bitch who owns the cafe across the street (and they girl who is sleeping with both Chase and Chris), and goes over there in a murderous rage. She destroys the entire cafe. It's a thing of beauty to watch. (This is also the scene from episode one where I thought she was destroying Karen's Cafe, but this is so much better). Don't fuck with Brooke's family. She and Haley have that in common.

Julian ends up going to a bar, and lets some guy just beat the ever loving shit out of him because he believes he needs to be punished. It hurts my heart.

Clay is diagnosed with a type of fugue disorder. And the treatment is just talk therapy, but he's resistant since he's afraid of what he might find out when he unburies all the stuff he's been repressing.

And finally, we know that Nathan's phone is somewhere. After we see Haley's 17th (I think) missed call, someone picks up the phone and tosses it at the wall, shattering it. I'm almost certain that's not Dan's hand. And Chris is at the police station with Haley so it's not him either. So, either Dan is working with someone (I don't know who), it's not Dan at all, or it's someone else entirely. For fun, I'm gonna call a long shot on it being Nathan himself. I can sort of see a situation where he 'kidnaps himself' in order frame Dan for something, but I can't see him upsetting Haley and the kids like that. But I have no idea.

Dan admitted to burning down the diner, so who knows what else he's capable of. That's bullshit, Dana. We all know exactly what he's capable of.

Love this episode so much...and yes, it is quintessential OTH and it's oh so good!!! The Dan/Haley stuff in this episode is brilliant and I love how we see it building throughout the entire episode until Haley finds Dan's money, Lydia's picture, and Jamie's baseball in Dan's drawer and begins to get suspicious of him. Their scene in the kitchen is amazing, and her running upstairs in fear and calling the cops as Dan is listening outside the door, is chilling, but oh so good. Love all the Scott Family stuff in this episode. Quinn and Clay watching Jamie and Lydia for Haley always plays well, and I just adore anytime we get with the kids, as they are the best family, so those scenes are always so touching. Julian not being able to let go of his guilt plays very realistically here, and him taking Davis back to the hospital to get rechecked to make sure he was okay...was certainly fitting. So was his conversation with Brooke when he told her not to give him that sympathetic look, and that he doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt. All very real emotions for a father wrecked with guilt and Austin plays it wonderfully. So many different conflicting emotions involved in this storyline for Brooke and Julian, and they do amazing with it. And Brooke destroying the cafe was oh so fun to watch, lol. And we see more with Clay talking to Dr. Alverez and we meet Logan...he's such a cute kid. Will Clay have any luck uncovering anything from his past that might give him some answers to his current state of mind? Stay tuned, you will never guess in a million years, lol. And I know you don't like Chris Keller....but he does genuinely care about Haley and only wants the best for her, so I loved all the Haley/Chris scenes. I'm glad he went with her to the police station and got the cops to take Nathan missing seriously. At least someone seems to care. And as Haley told the desk agent at the airport...."imagine if your husband was missing and nobody would help you find him." Joy did brilliantly with all the emotion in this episode, and then at the end when Haley finds the moose for Lydia on the ground lying by the curb.... just slay me now. Buckle up is all I can say, lol!!!

Yes! I'm so excited! I miss the crazy Tree Hill insanity!

Yes this Nathan storyline is crazy but I am glad you are having fun with it! After how slow last season was, I like that they are really going for it here in the last season!
