Tell Me Lies 1X8: Don't Go Wasting Your Emotion

Okay, so we finally get some backstory on Pippa. Turns out, she's basically been lying about her entire history. No surprise there, as this is a show for lying liars, who lie.

Basically, she was bullied badly enough in school that she ended up needing to transfer. Her awful peers made up a guy online that she fell for, but he wasn't real. And they embarrassed and tormented her so badly she moved schools in her senior year. Senior year wasn't any better, and she was determined to be the 'cool' girl in college. She claims she basically tricked Wrigley into thinking she was awesome and he doesn't know the real her.

This all comes out to Charlie after she and Charlie fool around a bit. So used to faking orgasms with Wrigley, she tries to do the same with Charlie who calls her out on it immediately. But it seems like the two of them end up in an okay place.

Meanwhile, Lucy talks Stephen into going to this fair that she knows Diana will be singing at (Stephen doesn't know) and maneuvers the situation, so they are basically directly in from of her while she's singing. Lucy then proceeds to make up with Stephen while a horrified Diana watches on.

Later, Stephen calls her out on it, and Lucy claims he should be more worried about how she, Lucy, feels, then his ex girlfriend. He's immediately defensive and ready to fight. But after a minute Lucy reminds him that she's keeping this secret for him and he changes his tune and somehow, ends up making it about him.

Afterwards, Diana shows up and tells him what he did at the fair was fucked up. He basically blames it on Lucy, but doesn't really apologize. She tries to kiss him, but he claims he won't cheat on Lucy (if she finds out, he's really fucked) and Diana is furious.

The next day, Pippa finally tells Lucy about Drew (which she already knows), but Pippa's version is different than the one Lucy has. In Pippa's scenario, Macy was at fault. But Lucy was told a different version by Stephen. Both argue their sides, but then Stephen comes out and they stop.

Lucy then writes an anonymous letter to the dean asking them to look into Drew (and maybe Wrigley, I can't remember) about Macy's death. Stephen has been adamant she not tell anyone since he was in the car. I wonder how this is gonna play out.

I feel like we're going to get one more piece of information about this. My money is on someone else seeing Stephen in the car. But mostly because I can't think of what else it could be. Lol.

Oh, and Stephen's mom called him saying she couldn't afford to pay for him to live on campus next semester because she's got to pay for stuff for his sister's boarding school now. And she was such a bitch about it. However, Stephen is much more willing to push back against her when on the phone when he was at the house.

Ugh. She show is so damn compelling.
