One Tree Hill 9X4: Don't You Want to Share the Guilt?

So, we're still having the same problem, too many characters I don't care about. If we ditch all them, the other three plot lines that I care about, are great right now.

Let's just quickly say that this Millie/Mouth storyline is still ridiculous. No one cares. I also don't care about Chase and him potentially share a girl with Chris. Or him being sad about Alex. At least we didn't get any Chuck this episode.

But onto the good stuff. Julian is obviously beating himself up over leaving Davis in the car. I'm sure it's not helping that Brooke is upset and being rather cold towards him (which I totally get, but I'm glad it didn't last long). I really thought he was trying to kill himself when he was sitting in the car, but it turns out, he was just trying to torture himself with how hot it was when he forgot Davis. (And he couldn't make it as hot as it was for him). But the anguish on his poor face. I'm so glad Brooke seems to have forgiven and taken pity on him. (And thank you to Haley who spoke to both of them, as that seemed to be the thing that got through to both of them).

It turns out that Clay isn't even taking drugs. He and Quinn finally have that fight from the premiere episode when he throws her out. But it turns out, he has no idea he's been buying drugs. He's been losing time for awhile now and cannot remember anything. This all comes to a head when Dan (after overhearing Quinn talking to Haley) accosts Clay at the beach. He's busy trying to drown him out of being of junkie when Clay comes clean. And, of course, Quinn is there hear. He decides he's going to get help, and it turns out they want to admit him for a while.

And finally, Nathan is coming home today, which means Dan has to leave. Haley sincerely thanks him for helping out while Nathan has been away, but tells him he still needs to go. And he says he will as soon as Nathan gets home. However, Nathan never makes it home. Jamie had been tracking his flight earlier and told Haley he was going to land on time and Haley said she'd wake him when he arrived. But she can't get ahold of him. He's not home, or answering his phone. She leaves a message for him wondering if he took a later flight. At the airport, we see the moose he was bringing home for Lydia left in the road by the curb. It seems like too much of a coincidence that Dan has to leave when Nathan gets home, but Nathan's not coming home. We can totally blame Dan for this, right?

Oh, and they girl that both Chase and Chris is sleeping with bought the cafe across from Karen's and is hanging disparaging signs about them outside. This could be fun, with Haley and Brooke playing this retaliation game, but we've got much bigger problems right now. Although I guess we do need some comic relief.

Yep....they initially wrote an entirely different conversation and dialogue for Haley to have with Julian, but Joy was like...wait a minute, this is what Haley should be telling him, and they let her improvise that entire monologue and just run with it, and it turned out brilliantly. You can clearly see every bit of raw, real, and genuine emotion from Joy as she was recounting Jamie almost drowning in the pool, and it was executed to perfection. Glad you enjoyed the scene as well. Joy was amazing in it :)

Melissa

No she did not. That's amazing! ❤️

Dana Licciardello

That scene with Haley and Julian is incredible. Joy actually improvised that monologue and it's so touching and genuine.
