9-1-1 7X4: Buck, Bothered and Bewildered

Maddie helps Buck realize his jealous behavior and when Tommy visits him, Buck confesses his feelings. Tommy kisses Buck and the two agree to go on a date. (WTF. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE EDDIE!)
Harry Grant returns to Los Angeles, but the reunion joy is short-lived after it is revealed that he is wanted by the Miami-Dade police for assaulting a discriminatory bodega owner and fleeing the jurisdiction. Athena convinces Harry to surrender himself to the LAPD, and a deal is struck where Harry remains in L.A. for the time being while doing community service.
Emergencies include the season premiere of The Bachelor being interrupted by a wannabe candidate superglueing herself to the driveway and a talking restaurant sink (which turns out to be a man trapped in the sewers below).

that’s so interesting because to me eddie is way more queer coded than buck who definitely was too but i just see it so clearly in eddie but that may be because i’m queer. for buck it was obvious in his interactions with men (ie he’s always been flirty and he never denied it when people assume or imply he’s queer) but for eddie it’s in his interactions with women. he has only been with 3 or 4 women in his life and he hasn’t been able to make a single one work. and the women are perfectly fine and even perfect on paper for him like ana and yet he couldn’t get himself to love her. he has rose colored glasses on now when it comes to his relationship with shannon because she’s dead but their actual relationship when she was alive wasn’t working either. she quite literally asked for a divorce right before she died and they spent more time apart while married than together. they were also constantly fighting. they got married because she got pregnant and tried to make it work for chris but it never did. there’s a fundamentally bigger issue here and that lies within him. he said he hates having to date because it feels like he has to perform ie he can’t be himself with any of the women he dates. there’s really only one person he can be himself around with whom he already has that ready made family he said didn’t want with ana. he has a lot to work through but i trust he’ll figure it out. it feels so blatant in s8 now too but we can discuss that more in depth when you get there. i personally headcanon him as gay and demisexual but i’m always open to other people’s headcanons

She is upset as she feels Buck has never been queer coded (and Eddie is super straight, according to her). You know how I feel. (But she's caught up and I am not). Anyway, I LOVE bi Buck. I think we all should be bi. I'm super pissed that I'm not. Honestly, it seems like how everyone should be. Why throw away half the population? I hate that I'm gonna say this, but I can totally buy into Buck being queer. Eddie, might be a harder sell for me. 😢

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE EDDIE!” and it will be! bi buck was just the first step to getting there it was revealed in a post episode interview that it was originally gonna be an eddie/tommy kiss so that tells me all i need to know about how the writers see both of these characters and that is not straight so we just have to be patient. eddie has a lot more to work through than buck does. oliver was first approached about bi buck in s4 and he was on board but the higher ups on fox shut it down and now four episodes into the show on abc, it finally happens. so once again thank you fox for canceling the show and thank you abc for saving it. it’s funny because the original showrunner left after s4 and came back for s7 and one can’t help but wonder if he left because he wasn’t allowed to tell the story he wanted to tell and came back when he finally got the okay.
