Person of Interest 3x12 Reaction

Arthur's character overall had one of the most gutt-punching and powerful lines I've ever heard in any fiction. "Life breaks individuals, but human beings are broken since the moment of conception." "Everything slides towards chaos; your creation, it brings us poor souls a cup full of order." "Your child is a dancing star." Of course other things are written masterfully in this show (maybe even better), but Arthur's poetic way of speaking was a marvel to witness in this couple of episode, and it made me love the character very quickly.

I'm sure you're well aware by now that The Machine genuinely cared for Root, but know that the morse code in this episode was real, and that the first word The Machine told Root was "sorry". Showing that even early in season 3 they knew what they were doing with the Machine and its relationship with Root, even through absurdly minute details that 99.9% of people wouldn't even notice.

“Its Hammertime!” We love a sassy Shaw. In The Machine We Trust. Root is an absolute true believer. You called The Machine “Her,” that’s it, you’re a believer too now. Welcome 😁. I wish we’d got more Claypool but he was an outstanding guest star. You dislike Hersh so much, but I really do enjoy him lol

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

Yeah, he knocks it out of the park as Arthur Claypool, from his line delivery to his mannerisms.

I have such a love for this stretch of episodes, it was written so well. I also really love the name of the episode, it fits so well. Also, Control is one of my favorite characters

I think the quality of writing in these two episodes stands out a lot. The dialog between Finch and Arthur in the vault is one of my favorite scenes, and Saul Rubinek is a strong actor. The flashbacks are great as well, and kid and young-adult Harold are super well cast imo

Lethe and Aletheia- Upon seeing just how much you truly love this show... I am so, so happy I could recommend this show for you to watch! Person of Interest is absolutely phenomenal!!! :) And while most people who watch this show all consider Root to be their absolute favorite character... and don't get me wrong, I do love Root very much, but John Reese is still my absolute favorite character. And not just because I absolutely love Jim Caviezel. I love everything about Reese, whether he's wrong or right to give up because he's lost all trust in the Machine. I can absolutely understand his mindset. And I don't believe that it is just Carter's death that has caused him to lose trust and faith in their mission to save people. I just think that Carter's death was the final straw that has finally pushed John over the edge. John has lost too much in his life. First with losing his own humanity upon becoming the killer and monster a big part of him believes himself to be, then losing Jessica, and finally Carter. Reese came back to save Finch because he couldn't lose his best friend too. Nor could he allow the world to lose him. And like John saw Jessica's husband Peter to be his enemy for killing her, he now sees the Machine as his enemy because the Machine failed to warn him in time to save Carter. After all... he never got his chance to get to Simmons who really killed her. This two part episode is fantastic, for so many reasons. I love Reese's and Fusco's storyline, and learning that Fusco quit drinking back when Reese first came into his life and saved him from his past self. Fusco is great in these episodes for trying to help Reese, and for wanting to be there to help bring him back home as a way of trying to pay him back for saving him first. And I love the actor who plays Arthur as well. Saul Rubinek. An actor I know from a number of shows and movies too. Shows such as Warehouse 13 and Frasier, etc... I love getting to know Control at last, and I love her as a villain throughout this show as well. The scenes between her, Root, and the Machine are fantastic. Shaw is fabulous too, just like she always is. And as for Hersh, I actually really love his character too. I think he's a great henchman working under the villains. And lastly... I love learning even more about Finch from his backstory, where we get to meet his father, who's story is very, very sad. Thank you for your reactions for these marvelous episodes of Person of Interest, Clint!! Sincerely, Heidi
