So, I think this was the best episode of the season so far. I know I've been annoying in my vocalization about how much I don't like this episode, but I'm super happy to give credit where it is due.
Lauren is leaving for Arizona and she and Felicity get into a bit of an argument about it. She accuses of Felicity and Ben of being selfish (bitch, please). And Ben ends up going to her house to help her load up her car to move. Over an hour after he said he'd be home, they get a call that he's been in a car accident. Felicity rushes to the hospital. Ben is still in surgery, but Lauren and the baby are fine. However, Felicity overhears the police tell Lauren that she over the legal limit while drinking, and Felicity is furious. She and Lauren have a confrontation as Lauren leaves the hospital without seeming to care if Ben makes it through surgery.
Later, Lauren shows back up and apologizes. She and Felicity have a heart to heart, and Felicity allows her to stay in her apartment while she stays at the hospital. When she goes home the next morning, she finds a note saying saying Felicity was right, and Lauren had to go. She doesn't know where and will contact them when she figures it out.
Noel and Zoe are having some intimacy problems. He keeps trying to get physical and she keeps rejecting him. Sean has him convinced it's because the relationship is dying. But, it turns out, she's gone off (and then back on) her depression meds and it's messing with her libido. Once Noel realizes it's not his fault, he's totally on board to wait it out with her.
Richard asks Elena out because she's Black and he wants to look good to this liberal girl he's been trying to date. And he has no idea why this would be offensive to Elena. She ends up punching him and gives him a totally swollen eye. Later they talk about it and Richard says she's Black, but not Black, because she doesn't have any Black friends. She ends up thinking about it and wonders if it's because she's spent her whole life trying to not be different.
And, Felicity finally comes clean about her paper. Her teacher is disappointed, but it looks like she's not going to get kicked out of school. Her teacher tells her she'll fail her, but after she realizes that Felicity is set to graduate, it seems like maybe even that won't happen.
