So, with all the stress that Felicity is under right now, she ends up leaving her 30 page art history paper until the last minute. And I mean, last minute. It's due tomorrow and she doesn't even have a topic yet. Totally panicked, she talks to Meghan about it and she suggests she steal a dissertation and pass it off as her own. At first Felicity is resistant, but eventually, she caves. However, her professor likes it so much, that she send it to an academic journal for publication. And, when the editorial review comes back with suspicions of plagiarism, her professor tells her she's behind her 100%. If I'm being honest, this is the first storyline I've actually been excited about in a while. Maybe it's because I spent a couple of years grading college papers as a TA. Or maybe it's because I missed the academic storylines on this show, but I'm actually invested in how this is gonna turn out. I mean, I don't think Felicity is gonna get expelled, but she should. How is this gonna work itself out?
Meanwhile, Lauren has decided she's going to Arizona. (And also has given Ben an ultrasound picture which everyone is fawning over). Ben decides he has to go to a lawyer, but they tell him that the easiest option is for him to move to Arizona as well. He assures Felicity that he won't be doing that. And while, I think she believes him, she's still concerned for their future.
Turns out, Sean isn't actually that good at his job. Noel gets called into the boss's office and told that Sean is dragging him down and if Noel can't contain him, he's gonna get fired. Noel, who thought this was about him dating Zoe, is totally caught off guard. He assures him, he can handle Sean, but in the next pitch, Sean immediately takes over and Noel can't keep him calm. He pulls him out of the room and tries to explain the situation. Sean gets pissed, leaves, and then quits. However, after a conversation with Meghan, he changes his mind and his boss allows him to come back on board.
And Javier and Rita are hanging out, trying to find love. Rita thinks she's found it, but it turns out that Javier knows the guy and he dated one of his guy friends. He doesn't want Rita to get hurt, so he tells her, but she accuses him of being jealous. Javier confronts the guy and, in the words of Meghan, 'deny, deny, deny.' But, later on, he comes clean and Rita apologizes to Javier, so all seems good there.
I feel so bad that I kinda just feel ready for this to end. I LOVED this show is S1. But now, it feels like shell of what it used to be and I'm sad. But, on the plus side, I really do care about what gonna happen with Felicity and this plagiarism situation, so I am excited to watch next week.
