Arrow 4X23: Schism

Ugh. I thought we were free of the missiles. I was wrong. Turns out Darhk stole the laptop and now all 15,000+ missiles are active. Fun.

We've got around 2 hours to stop the end of the world. Initially, everyone (MAYBE minus Felicity) has given up hope and have no idea what to do. They are basically expecting to die. I say 'maybe' Felicity because she did make Quintin promise to take her mom to a safe place which indicates she isn't sure they'll make it, but she is really the only one who has hope.

The entire city is rioting and looting. Eventually, Oliver gives an impassioned speech and gets the people to believe that the city can be better. He inspires them to stay strong and work together. While he is giving this speech, Felicity and Curtis manage to divert the missile that is headed for Star City. Awesome! Just 15,000 more to go! But, as the city sees the missile zoom away, it seems like they are reenergized.

Felicity manages to find where Cooper is and convinces him to essentially kill himself for the greater good. Once he does, she's able to take over the console and she and Curtis figure out how to set all the remaining missiles to explode in space.

With the city rallying around Oliver, he's able to channel all that hope into counteracting Darhk's dark magic. It's not long before it's just hand to hand combat between Oliver and Darhk. The city is taking care of all the backup Darhk brought along with. Eventually, after being told by Darhk that he won't kill him, Oliver does. He stabs him in the chest with an arrow.

Once everything settles down, Lance, Dig, and Thea decide to leave. Quintin decides to take Donna and get away now that his badge his been taken permanently; Dig decides he needs some time away and appears to be going back to the army (?); Thea doesn't know who she is anymore (she threatened to kill Darhk's daughter and she just needs to figure out what's going on with her. Oliver ends up being the interim mayor. And Felicity is all alone. No job. No one in the cave. (And the cave is a giant mess). No fiancé. I don't know where she goes from here, but please, let it be something awesome. (And something that includes her and Oliver getting married).

I have no idea where we're going next season. (If I haven't mentioned, the lovely Sabrina has decided to continue to sponsor through S5 ❤️). I'm guessing the flashbacks will be in Russia. I feel like we'll add a new cast member or two. (I don't feel confident that Quintin will be back as a main cast member- but I think both Dig and Thea will). Maybe there will be some sort of scandal with someone outing Oliver as the Green Arrow? (And maybe that will bring Roy back? 🙏)

This was such a fun season. I know I've said that every season, but come on. How can you not genuinely just enjoy this show? (Also, I just looked at Trakt and this season was the lowest rated. I'm sorry, what? Are people insane? This season was so good! Maybe people are mad that Oliver and Felicity are broken up? I mean, I am too, but that's no reason to tank the season. But seriously, am I in the minority for loving this season? I don't care, I just wanna know. Lol.)
