Okay, so I really quite enjoyed this episode. I don't know if they knew they were done after this season, or if they were hoping for a renewal, but I feel like the story is working either way.
In some quick edits, we see the Lions win all their games to get them to state. And, believe it or not, this is not even the best part of this episode. Truly, all the stuff outside football, was kind of the star this time. (Not that it will keep me from using a football thumbnail I'm sure ❤️).
Outside of football, we've got Tim having a hard time adjusting to freedom. He's livid over the fact that Billy 'let' Becky work at The Landing Strip. He ends up in a fight with a patron who is touching her and gets thrown out, screaming about how she's 17. Billy follows him, and Tim ends up knocking him out as well. Eventually, Tim decides he can't stay in the house anymore and leaves.
Vince's dad has started drinking. He's pissed off because his wife asked him to keep it out of the house due to her addiction issues. Then, later, he shows up drunk to bust up Vince and his mom's delightful dinner. It seems like he's selling drugs and gives them each a leather coat. Both refuse and tell him to leave them alone. He gets a little physical with mom, but Vince intervenes and sends him on his way. Thankfully, the two of them are smart enough to change the locks and when he comes home drunk (or high, who can tell), he can't get in. But, he does try (and almost succeeds) in kicking the door off the frame. Mom calls the cops and Vince tells him to get lost before he gets arrested.
Dillion has ZERO funds. The principal is asking Eric to cut everything he can. Then we find out that next season, there will only be one team in Dillion. But we don't know which one it will be. But it feels like Eric, who is taking his team to state, should be the coach of whichever team is chosen.
However, that might not mesh will with the fact that Tami has just been offered a job that she seems to really want in Philadelphia. Eric was being a bitch about her taking the interview during his game, so I can only imagine how he'll feel when she comes back with an offer in hand. And not only that, but it was a step above the job she interviewed for. They really seem to love her. And how could they not?
I don't have any idea where we are headed with the last two episodes, but I'm super excited to find out.
Also, if you're at all curious, I do tend to watch the NFL from behind my hands as well. I'm more dramatic than I want to be. 🤣
