One Tree Hill 7X10: I Am a Runner and You Are My Father's Son

So, Nathan has officially fired Clay. He is not (at least as of this point) playing basketball for the Bobcats, or anywhere actually. Clay tries to fix the problem, but the agency asks him to resign, which he won't do, so they fire him too. Haley is super pissed at Quinn about this. You guys know I'm Team Haley and so not a Quinn fan, but I cannot fathom why Haley is upset at Quinn for this. I think she's actually upset that Quinn and David are getting divorced, and it's just easy to be upset about this.

Also, I'm torn on whether or not Clay should tell Nathan about his wife. On one hand, Nathan would probably be much more sympathetic about the situation if he knew. However, if he Clay are supposed to be close friends, shouldn't Nathan be sympathetic anyway? I don't know. Clay assured him the deal was gonna get done. And then, not only did it not, but Nathan knew before Clay did. Maybe if Nathan hadn't just gone through this Renee bullshit, things might have ended differently with Clay.

Anyway, Millie is totally out of control. She assures Alex that she stop doing coke anytime, but then immediately calls a model to bring her more. Mouth finds out and confronts her about it. She denies it, but has she yelling at him for suggesting she'd do this, her nose starts to bleed. Plus, things are totally messed up with Brooke. She got Alex's agent and requested $500,000 to be the face of Clothes Over Bros. Brooke is livid (and I think she has every right to be) after everything she's done for Millie. Later, she and Alex meet at Tric and they do shots. Alex included. She texted Julian telling him she loved him, but he didn't respond. However, Victoria is also at the club. She observes this and calls the cops when they leave. They get pulled over and Millie ends up in jail for DUI. She calls Brooke for help, but Brooke denies her.

Speaking of Brooke, we find out that not only was she not pregnant last episode, but that it's unlikely she can get pregnant. Come on. Can we just let someone's life in Tree Hill be good? All this poor girl has ever wanted is a family.

And I don't know what is going on Dan. He tries to drown Clay in the ocean, but calls it a baptism. Then he tells him to wear more suits? What?

Yeah....I'm actually glad that Clay isn't using the fact that he screwed up Nathan's deal as the catalyst for telling him about Sara right now, because that would seem disingenuous. I mean what would he say at the moment....listen Nathan, I'm sorry that I didn't listen to you and I screwed up your deal, but hey, my wife died and I sorta went through a breakdown and got sent to TH, and now I'm seeing my dead wife and I'm also sneaking around with your married sister-in-law, who you warned me to stay away from....so my personal life is a wreck, but just thought you should know so you could take it easy on me....sorry again." No, that absolutely would be horrendous to watch, so thankfully Clay has better sense than that to bring his past up with Nathan right now!!!

Dana, I loved this episode for all the drama involving Naley and Clay/Quinn and the fallout from Clay messing up Nathan's Bobcat deal, lol. Yes...the Mille and Alex stuff, Brooke, Julian, and Victoria, and Dan and Rachel are all intriguing as well.... but I was here for all the Naley family stuff, hehe. And I'm totally team Naley here all the way. Both Nathan and Haley have every right be pissed off at both Clay and Quinn. It's obvious why they would be upset with Clay and Nathan would fire him for taking his eye off the ball and getting careless and arrogant with Nathan's deal, and Quinn comes off as an uncaring bitch through it all. The fact that her loyalty is to Clay...the guy she just met, over her sister and brother-in-law, whose massive house she's staying at while her personal life is a wreck, is ridiculous on her part. Plus, the fact that she's mixing business with pleasure in getting involved with Nathan's agent when she's in the middle of divorcing her husband, who did nothing wrong but love her...makes her incredibly selfish to Haley, and why she told her that to her face, and I tend to agree. Which is why Nathan told Quinn in 7x06 that if she wants to sleep around with guys in Tree Hill, there are plenty available who aren't responsible for his career...setting the stage that you don't get involved with family members business partners right now, when your marriage/divorce isn't even settled. So yes....Naley have taken a hard stance on their displeasure over Clay and Quinn getting involved, and it's completely warranted right now. Look at what just happened because of it!!!! And I loved the Dan/Clay baptism scene at the beach, lol. It's such a total Dan thing to do....and I'm looking forward to seeing if you can figure out what his agenda was in trying to get Clay to see the light and fight back for what he wants? So, stay tuned, hehe. As for Dan and Rachel...that's another situation where you are going to have to wait and see what becomes of them, lol, and I'm glad that Brooke didn't help Millie out when she called. That girl is a train wreck right now and needs a hard dose of reality real bad. Can't wait for the string of next week's OTH episodes......they are sooo good!!!! P.S. Nathan going to see Haley at the studio and asking her if she's writing the next "wanted dead or alive" song is comedy gold, lol. Love those two together at the studio. Such a realistic and mature conversation for them to be having about what to do about Nathan's career and their family concerns. Love the Naley communication.... it's stronger than ever right now!!!! Hands down.... the best on the show!!!

I mean if Clay was going to let his personal issues interfere with his job he should have stepped down. (He's seeing his dead wife.) Not sure that is Nathan or Quinn's job to excuse his behavior, especially when Nathan is unaware of the situation. When Clay decided not to tell Nathan he was putting his role as his agent first, so Nathan should act accordingly.

Heather

Dan still sucks

C. J. Ramirez

Yep.....Amen sister. Totally team Naley all the way in this situation, and I totally get why both Nathan and Haley are pissed at both Clay and Quinn here. Clay deserves most of the blame for being arrogant with Nathan's offer and not closing the deal, and Quinn comes off as his accomplice for his careless behavior, which is why they are mad at her. She showed zero sympathy for the fact that Nathan just lost his job, and that his career is in jeopardy, and all she cares about is Clay and whether or not Nathan will fire him. That should be the least of her worries right now, and the fact that all she could muster up was a flimsy excuse of something went wrong....is a joke. Shut up already Quinn, it's not your job and livelihood at stake here. Glad that Naley went off on her in this episode, hehe.

Melissa

I thought it was strange how Quinn showed no loyalty to Nathan and Haley here, but was 100% behind a guy she just met who screwed up Nathan's deal. I think Haley's just really mad at the situation; the fact that Nathan might not play or he won't play in Charlotte. His main thing was playing close to home because of his family. Quinn seems to be all over the place with her divorce and spending all her time w Clay that she comes off as not caring.
