Shameless 8X1: We Become What We...Frank!

I'm concerned about this season. I feel like half the reason I watch this show is to watch how fucked up and dysfunctional everything is. However, nothing really seems that crazy right now. All of the storylines fairly normal and expected for average people at this point in their lives. I understand that characters need to change and grow, but this doesn't feel like the same show it once was. But, in S8, how can it be, really?

So, Carl (who is home from military school for the summer- but Liam is still in school 🤷‍♀️), uses some connections to sell everyone's portion of meth. Well, those who wanted it sold. So far, everyone except as gotten their money, and Ian is next on the list. Carl bought a hot tub, Lip paid one of Sierra's bills and starting paying back Youens for his rehab, Debbie bought a bunch of welding equipment, and Frank smoked all his.

Fiona has fixed up the apartment and listed it for rent. After a debate, she decides to list it at $850/month, even though everyone believes it's too high. However, she ends up with a bidding war and it ends up getting rented for $1000/month.

Veronica is working at Patsy's and fantasizing ways to kill Svetlana. She goes to the bar and tries to reason with her, but Svetlana is not budging. Plus, she wants back in the throuple. Which V is vehemently against. However, when ICE raids Patsy's she gets the idea to have Svetlana raided. She tells them she's got prostitutes and does human trafficking. I'm super concerned that Svetlana is gonna get out of jail and come and try to kill V in her sleep.

Debbie got a job in a parking garage. She's doing that during the day and going to school at night. She's not really holding up her end of the bargain with Neil either. She's supposed to be taking care of him, but instead, she's never around and forcing him to take care of Franny and himself.

Ian is trying to apologize to Trevor and get him to spend time with him. Trevor keeps saying no, but it doesn't look as though Ian's advances are unwelcome. Especially, when Ian tells him he'll be back to try again tomorrow, and Trevor happily smiles.

Also, Kevin's got a lump in his breast that needs to be biopsied immediately.

And Frank is busy being a busy running around trying to make amends with everyone. He claims Monica is the reason his life was so fucked up. Whatever Frank.
