Friday Night Lights 5X5: Kingdom

Okay, so I'm confused about Eric's calf/cow comment. Are we saying that TMU cannot ask anything official from Vince right now because he's a junior? And they asked Luke to come in hopes that they could covertly talk to Vince? That's what I kind of thought, but then Eric was telling Vince's dad about the 13 year old that committed, so how does that work? I must have something wrong here. Any ideas?

Either way, Eric, Vince, and his dad decide that all recruitment will go through Eric. They both seem fine with that, but Vince's dad was getting a little chummy with the TMU guy during the game.

Speaking of the game, it's a rematch of their first forfeited team. Eric tries to get to team not to look at it that way and just go out and play their game. However, the team is fired up (especially after taunts and misspellings from the opposing town) and they play hard, like they've got something to prove. And they win. By a good margin. However, Eric seems unhappy as that isn't the kind of game he wanted them to play, win or lose.

Then after the game, these idiots go out and get hammered (which isn't really the idiotic part), and then decide to brand themselves. I don't know how many of them did it, but it was at least a couple. The next morning, hungover, they get Jess to patch them up. (Who's pissed since Vince went out and got drunk instead of spending the night with her as he promised).

Julie is still sleeping with her TA. At least until his wife finds out. She makes a huge scene, slaps her, and screamed repeatedly, 'Julie Taylor is a slut!' She also tells Julie that she's not special and she isn't the first girl he's slept with. That's not surprising. He definitely gave a bit of a grooming vibe.

I'm still not sold on Buddy Jr. I just cannot believe that he was go from drunkenly robbing stuff, pissed off, and hating the world one day; to I love football and follow everything the coach tells me the next day. I'm not buying it.
