Outlander 7X4: A Most Uncomfortable Woman

So, we've decided not to head to Scotland after all. While we're still in Wilmington, we run into one of the guys from the Sons of Liberty and he tells Jamie that he's basically conscripting him to service. He tells Claire about it and she says she'll come along as a doctor. Ian says he loves the country and wants to fight too. He's agreed to check for Indian tribes who might want to fight with him.

While riding around, he stumbles across William (who is on some mission for the British army) who was injured himself badly when his horse got spooked by a snake. Ian ends up bringing him to a neighboring town and manages to find a doctor to handle in infection. At first, it looks like they are going to have to cut off his arm, but luckily they were able to just drain the abscess. However, William discovers that one of the men he needs to meet lives next door, so he decides to stick around for a bit.

Meanwhile, in town, Claire runs into Christie who is delighted and kisses her. And it's a LONG kiss. it's not overly passionate, but there is some intent behind it. The two of them end up having lunch (I think, or tea or something) and we find out that Christie was the one who published the obituary when he found out that their house burned down. He's also seems somewhat sad to find out that Jamie is also alive and well.

Later, when Claire and Jamie are together, she tells him about Christie and Jamie offers to kill him for her. It's actually both a funny and really sweet scene. I love that Jamie struggles with being upset that someone else loves Claire because he loves her so much that he can totally understand.

Back (or ahead) in 1980, Brianna and Roger are fixing up Lallybroch and running out of money. But Brianna gets a job as a plant inspector (or something), so that should help. Also, they discuss maybe talking to Jemmy about the hidden gold, but decide against it. He is, however talking about folklore creatures as though they are real, so they'll have to deal with that (but I don't really care about that much- keep me in 1776 please!)
