Outlander 4x12: Providence

Was there a point to us spending so much time on Roger this episode? I mean I get what happened, but it seemed to me that we could have gotten that point across in, like, five minutes, not thirty. I really need him to be gone, or at least have way less focus next season.

But anyway, he's trapped with a priest who the Mohawk are also mad at. He tells the priest that love is for suckers, and you need to look out for number one. Roger escapes when they take the priest out to kill him (in a totally excruciatingly painful and long way) but hearing his screams, he returns. He throws a bunch of whiskey on the fire so he dies faster and then gets recaptured. He doesn't really believe any of it! He's a helper and he loves Brianna! We get it. Moving on.

Brianna gets Lord John to bring her to the prison to see Stephen before he's hanged. She wants to forgive him so she doesn't have to carry that burden around. Stephen at first denies it's his baby and then gives Brianna a ruby to help care for the child.

When she gets there, she realizes Murtagh is in prison, and Fergus and a bunch of the Regulators are there to break him out. In doing so, they drop the keys on the floor which Bonnet grabs right before the places blows up. No idea if we have to worry about him going forward.

Everyone piles into the getaway wagon driven my Marsali and so far, it looks like they've gotten away with it. Lord John and Brianna head out on foot, and he tells the soldiers that he didn't see anything while he was in the jail.

And we get nothing from Claire and Jaime, save for a voiceover of him reading the letter. If we don't get Claire and Jamie next episode, we riot.
