One Tree Hill 5X7: In da Club

I'm sorry, but at this point, Nathan is complicit in this. Up until this point, I could stretch my imagination to believe that he was oblivious. Well the time for that has past. There is zero chance he does not know what Carrie is doing at this point. And while he hasn't done anything horrible yet, he's so close to that line. He needs to talk to both Carrie and Haley. And Carrie needs to be fired. Naley have worked so hard to get back to this point, I don't want this bitch to mess it up!

Speaking of messing things up, I'm not sure how to feel about Lucas and his relationships. I'd be a hypocrite if I didn't call Peyton out on doing exactly what Carrie was doing. She tells Luke she was wrong and should have said yes to his proposal, she loves him, and then kisses him. But here's the thing, Luke kisses her back. With passion.

Then he leaves to see Lindsay (and we all know I'm no Lindsay fan), and Peyton (and us!) get excited about the prospect of being back with Lucas. So, she shows up at Luke's door only to find Lucas has PROPOSED to Lindsay (with, what I can only assume is the ring he bought for Peyton). And poor Peyton's face was just pure shock, anguish, and horror. (My money's on her finding that ring while packing up her stuff and Luke and going with it so as not to hurt her feelings). I was utterly stunned.

In other news, Mouth finally left his boss (and got fired in the process, but he can totally sue for wrongful termination). But, he and Milly might end up starting something. I'd very much like that. Let's just swap out Carrie for Milly. We've already got a person to hate in Victoria, we could totally lose Carrie. Lol.

"My point was that life has happened along the way for both Lucas and Peyton, so they always have rough waters to navigate in the romance department, and it's not so clear cut as them just simply loving each other." => Thats exactly the point of my previous answer, at least we can agree on that and thats why I agree with the person who wrote that he is confused. Did they love other people ? Yes. Were they in love with them ? To me, no. And thats the core of the problem. Anyway, have a nice day ;)

Alex

I'm very aware of Lucas and Peyton's history, lol, but that's not the point of my argument. hehe. You can call Leyton bad timing, right people, wrong time, etc.., whatever the case may be, but the point is.... they've both been in love with other people besides each other. Lucas had Brooke and now Lindsey, and Peyton was also in love with Jake. Trying to diminish all of those relationships just because they weren't with each other is a disservice to those characters and those relationships that did exist on this show. And of course, Leyton isn't Naley...they aren't supposed to be, not by a long shot, lol. I only used Naley as an example because Naley have never been in love with anybody else besides each other, and that's clearly not the case with Leyton, which is why their timing is always wrong and there are plenty of other circumstances and complications that always get in the way. That's by design and the way they've always been written. It has nothing to do with an endgame, or who I think should be with who, etc. My point was that life has happened along the way for both Lucas and Peyton, so they always have rough waters to navigate in the romance department, and it's not so clear cut as them just simply loving each other.

Yeah...I think it makes sense to a point that Nathan reverts back to making dumb decisions sometimes, especially on the heels of his accident, and thank goodness we do get some answers down the line to explain his behavior, but some of this storyline was still a stretch in my opinion and tough to stomach. I just think that Naley have been through enough and grown so much for Nathan to not recognize immediately what is going on here and play the clueless card. And yes.... the second Carrie came into Naley's bedroom and helped Nathan with his pants...he should have immediately went running to Haley to tell her about Carrie. That coupled with the skinny dipping and the blatant flirting is the biggest slap in the face to Haley. Instead...what does he do at Tric? Practically encourages her to keep up the flirting by not putting a stop to it. Then it continues when they get home......ugh Nathan don't be such a dumbass!!!!

Melissa

Haley's grown a lot and has never looked back. She's learned her lessons and they stuck. She would never to do this. Nathan on the otherhand tends to revert back to dumb decisions, so it's totally in character for him to act like this atm. But yes, if they wrote her ooc and she was not disclosing inappropriate behavior by the "manny" to Nathan, there would be pitchforks. This storyline works for me though because of who Nathan is. In light of what happened with his accident and where Naley stood, it made sense even if I was annoyed with him.

Heather

Yep....right on!!!! We all love an adore Nathan, but I think all of us realize that he's in the wrong here. Haley and his family deserve way better than this ridiculous behavior by him right now. As I said above...could you imagine if the roles were reversed, and Haley was letting something like this go on with a Manny living in the house? lol The fans would have been out with pitchforks, lol.

Melissa

I don't think this has anything to do with Lucas having confused feelings about Lindsey. He's been shown to have fallen in love with her...they've been together for several years now. Lucas as a character has always been shown to be in love with multiple women. He fell in love with Peyton, then fell in love with Brooke but wanted the best of both worlds by caring on an inappropriate relationship with Peyton behind Brooke's back, so this situation with Lindsey and Peyton is no different. He wants a life with Lindsey, but also wants to keep Peyton at arm's length and play his typical rescue ranger act with her. It's been going on for the entire duration of this show, lol. It really shouldn't be surprising to anybody. That's what makes the contrast between Lucas and Nathan so stark and jarring because they are the polar opposites when it comes to love and relationships. Nathan was a player as a teenager pre-Haley, who never gave a crap about a woman before and had never been in love. Then the second he basically locked eyes with Haley, he was a goner, lol. He knew who he wanted from then on out and proposed at 16 and never looked back. We never had to guess or question Nathan's love or motives for Haley. He wanted always and forever with her right away...and has never wavered one bit in that decision and they've built quite the life together. The same can't be said about Lucas, however. He falls in love at the drop of a hat, while other relationships have unfinished business hanging in the background and it always gets him in trouble because he can't seem to ever make up his mind with who and what he wants, but it doesn't have anything to do with him not being in love. In fact...one could argue that he loves too hard and too much, lol.

Melissa

Just because he's not drunk and angry doesn't make his actions here better. I love Nathan, but he's handling this all wrong. How is Haley suppose to trust his actions when he keeps making dumb decisions. Her helping him dress was too much for me. It crossed the line and was highly inappropriate. Everything after is just ridiculous on Nathan's part. He needs to tell Haley. Anything else is the wrong behavior.

Heather

Not with how he's handling the Carrie situation, he's not, lol. He's literally letting a threat continue to infiltrate his house and his family, and Haley is clueless about what's going on. You say he's better...yes he's back on his feet and not drinking and depressed anymore, but that in no way shape or form excuses his judgement or lack thereof right now. Could you imagine if the roles were reversed and Naley had a Manny living with them that was hitting on Haley behind Nathan's back every chance he got and making incredibly inappropriate comments and remarks, and Haley never spoke up and said a word to Nathan about it. She just let it continue to go on. The fans would have had an absolute conniption if that was going on, lol, so no....I don't excuse Nathan one bit right now. He's being incredibly stupid and reckless with his family and that's not the Nathan Scott we all love an adore!!!

Melissa

Me too...Lindsey is definitely the best out of all of them, and it's why she fits in so well with Naley. It's not lost on me how easy going she is with that family as opposed to Leyton, and it's funny actually that we don't ever see Leyton with Naley, but we do with LL. Leyton are absolutely awful this season and have zero rooting value for me. I think the show really underestimated what this storyline would do for them moving forward with the casualty of Lindsey hanging between them. They left no room for any middle ground. I think you either like Lucas and Peyton and pull for them, or you can't stand them, lol. Lucas and Peyton broke up 3 years ago and Lucas moved on with his life and fell in love with Lindsey in the meantime and they have been building a life together. Peyton comes off as the third wheel in this storyline and it's a pathetic look for her. The worst she's ever been. Lindsey didn't ask for any of this, and she certainly doesn't deserve Peyton's snarky bullshit, or Lucas' deceptiveness. And I so agree with you...I think at this point Leyton do make each other and the others around them worse....and it's why it's so easy to gravitate to somebody new and from the outside like Lindsey. She's good for Lucas and I totally believe in being the right person for somebody at the right time...and that's how I feel about the LL relationship. Glad I'm not the only one, hehe.

Melissa

He’s better than he was after the accident

C. J. Ramirez

Nathan is complicit in all of this....he's handling it all wrong. By not shutting Carrie down and telling Haley exactly what is going on, he's playing right into her delusional hands and giving her hope that she can come between him and his wife. He's being so disrespectful to Haley through all of this...and it's unfortunately the worst Nathan has ever handled a situation like this. He's not that dumb...so he needs to quit acting like it. And coming on the heels of his accident where he made life a living hell for Haley and Jamie...his family deserves way better than what he is giving them right now.

Melissa

Lucas just needs to break up with Lindsey! He has a history of being confused with his emotions. Just like when he was with Brooke. Instead of breaking up with her he kept denying his feelings for Peyton and the love triangle ended up transpiring.

Ali M

Of the 3 of them in this mess- Lucas, Peyton and Lindsey, I like Lindsey the best. She has done nothing wrong. She just loved a guy for 2 years. She didn't ask for any of this. Sometimes I hate the "meant for each other" trope. Leyton make it so hard for me to root for them. Maybe if they made Lindsey unlikable it would be easier. But they made the other 2 unlikable. I absolutely dislike Lucas in this storyline and only like Peyton slightly better than him. I wish Peyton just came back for music. I like her storyline with Haley and Mia. Lucas always makes her worse. *sigh*

Sabrina

I feel like Lucas was making so many poor decisions. And I do think Peyton doesn’t need to go so low and be rude to Lindsay. But I can’t imagine many people would do well with constantly be around the girlfriend of the man they’re still in love with. I think it’s such a messy situation for everyone. 😬😬

Dydra Arnold

Lucas just pisses me off this season. First he springs a proposal on Peyton and then abandons her in a hotel when she says not right now. Then he immediately tries to sleep with Brooke, then rebounds with Lindsey who deserves better. Of course he cheats on her with Peyton because Luke can't help but cheat evidently. Then he goes and proposes to Lindsey even though he knows he shouldn't. I'm not a huge fan of Lucas in general but this season he is just annoying.

Amanda Q

He’s just in shock of what’s happening he’s like what tf

C. J. Ramirez

I also think Peyton puts a lot of her anger on Lindsey when she wants to put it on Lucas :(

Shayna Puerto

I’ve always felt so bad for Lindsey! I think all her feelings are very valid. She tried to be understanding and be friends with Peyton at first, but Peyton shot that down and was just so mean to her the whole time. I think it would be hard for any girl if their boyfriend was constantly around their ex that they wrote a whole book about. This whole situation is just a mess lol. Great reaction as always! <3

Shayna Puerto

Nathan... what are you doing to Haley... :( he can't be that dumb, right ? At first, I thought he was simply trying to be nice to Carrie but he seems to like her actually... And I think the two Scotts are having a contest to see who's the dumbest lol Haley must have a superpower to always manage to catch them kissing x) And I like Lindsey but I have never understood why she wanted Peyton to like her or be her friend. Maybe it was a way to have control over Peyton. I don't know... And since we all know that Peyton still loves Lucas, I can see why Peyton is not trying with her. They should not be forced to hang out together because nothing good can happen... But I guess it is complicated in a small town and now that Lindsey is also friend with Peyton's friends.

Alex

Like I said before, I hate what the writers did to Lucas and Peyton this season, mainly Lucas and this episode is a demonstration of that

Juy Ahmad

Because of his behavior after his accident, Nathan's marriage is already strained. Not sure entertaining Carrie's delusions is the best way to fix it.🤔 By not shutting her down and not telling Haley, he is telling Carrie that what she is doing is OK and welcomed.

Heather

Love Q now standing up for Nathan. And Nathan is innocent he’s just being nice he’s not flirting with nanny Carrie🤣🤣 she’s just delusional. And that open door proposal at the end was a shocker to everybody cause I was like let’s go Lucas get back with Payton rn but sike
