Friday Night Lights 2X13: Humble Pie

So, I know that Smash (and the rest of the guys on the team) genuinely just love to play the game. Since he's already committed to TMU, does his not playing actually hurt his career? (Assuming that TMU doesn't rescind due to moral clauses or anything). Or is he just sad he won't get to finish out the season and make playoffs/state etc.?

All that said, I don't disagree with Smash, but if you're going to be a public figure, you need to realize that is the kind of stuff that comes with. (Which I think is shitty in and of itself, but this is the reality of the situation).

What is happening with this volleyball storyline? Is it just to showcase Julie's isolation? Or that Eric has way too much on his plate as Athletic Director? Or that Tyra is still upset with Tim? Actually, now that I've written it down, it does seem to take care of several plot points. Lol. I wonder if Tyra taking her frustrations out on Tim has more to do with her being upset that Landry is hanging out with chemistry girl.

Is it just me, or do Lyla and Tim have a good bit of chemistry on screen? I don't want them to get together, but something about the two of them sharing a scene just makes me feel something.

Also, I'm highly concerned for Tim and Billy going forward. Yes, they repaid the money, but you don't want to be on the radar of drunk, high, crazy people with guns.
