One Tree Hill 4X19: Ashes of Dreams You Let Die

Heads up, my intro is long. I add some things I wanted to say after last episode but ran out of time. The actual reaction starts around 10:20 or so.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, here's the dilemma. When Keith got shot by Dan, I originally felt like he'd be fine. Turns out, he wasn't. That makes it possible that Lucas could shoot and kill Dan right now (especially since next season we're going to college and we won't need parents around all the time). But, then we'd spend the next, who knows who long, with Luke in jail. And I don't think we'll be doing that storyline either. All this to say, I feel like Dan will be fine. I'm guessing he bent down to check on Karen as Lucas shot.

I wonder if that text message that Luke sent to Dan is enough to convince Karen that what Luke is saying is true.

Also, I've been so worried about Haley's baby, that I didn't really think to be concerned about Karen's. Plus, Luke being so pissed at Dan that he wasn't concerned about Karen passing out seems way out of character for him. He's doing all this to protect his mom and yet, she's unconscious and he's not doing anything to help her. He's so clouded by rage right now.

I give those kids a lot of credit. I'm not sure I'd be able to sign that yearbook for Jimmy's mom. Maybe. I'd like to think I would, but honestly, I'm not sure.

Sweet Haley. Trying to make sure Nathan doesn't feel bad about being the cause of her not getting to give her speech by saying it was about the Rachel test scandal. And Nathan immediately knows she lying and calls her out on it. It's just another in a long list of lovely scenes between the two of them.

I appreciate your rant about Dan at the beginning and whether or not he is worthy of redemption or can find it? Your running commentary is probably how most feel, lol. It's a running theme throughout this series and is something the show does incredibly well at. The initial human instinct is to be like.....no way, he killed his brother in cold blood, that along with all the terrible things he's done, should absolutely garner no sympathy from anybody, but because his character is written as so complex, and because we all know it's not such a clear black and white issue because of the powerful presence of this character, the immense weight he brings to everyone else on the canvas, I always appreciated the show for continuing to have the conversation on whether or not someone like Dan Scott can find redemption? And because Paul is such a powerful actor in all these scenes, you find yourself maybe questioning whether or not redemption is possible for Dan Scott? As for this episode, we once again see the walls closing in on Dan, and Lucas faced with finding out the truth and trying to convince Karen to believe him....so what now? We know she ended up collapsing on the floor as Lucas is pointing the gun at Dan.....so did he shoot him, or miss? Stay tuned, hehe. And Naley continue to warm my heart as always, as we see how much they love each other, and how they only want the best for one another. Nathan going to bat for her with Principal Turner so Haley could give her speech at graduation is golden....and Nathan with his speeches, lol. The man is amazing!!! Then we have Haley reaching out to Whitey to keep Nathan's dream of playing ball alive. Those two are made for each other without a doubt. They make everybody believe in true love and soulmates for sure. And how cute was Nathan telling Haley that he hopes she continues to get bigger so their son will be taller, lol. That scene is a gem for sure. Love pregnant Naley!!!
