One Tree Hill 4X18: The Runaway Found

I had to cut this discussion short, as I had to leave to go to the doctor. Expect the next episode to make up for it.

That said, why the hell did Peyton go to see fake Derek (Ian) on her own in the first place? How did she not know that wouldn't be a good idea?!?

I totally agree with Peyton forgiving 'Ian' though. It's not about his bullshit. It's about her healing.

Haley convinces Luke to take responsibility for the point shaving. I'm kind of shocked about this. Or maybe I'm not. That said, I'm not surprised that Lucas would agree to do this.

WHF is Dan doing here? I don't know what he accomplished by ambushing Abby and her mom. But in hindsight, I guess it worked in keeping them from reporting him?

But at the end of the day, Abby manages to get the info to Luke. And now, Lucas knows the truth But he basically has no proof. How are we going to deal with this? I cannot figure out how Luke can get Dan arrested for this. Please! It needs to be so!

KAREN WHAT ARE YOU DOING? You should not be kissing Dan under any circumstances! You don't know all the facts. He is NOT redeemable.

Also love Nathan doing the right thing, and coming to the realization that he didn't want to be Dan here, and that his wife and son are what mattered most, no matter how difficult the choice may be, he still knows right from wrong, and he has Haley by his side most of all to navigate the uncertain waters. And yes...another speech at a press conference this season that was amazing by Nathan Scott, hehe. Just love how he always rises to the occasion, no matter how much he's tested. And that Karen/Dan scene at the end that Lucas walks into, always sends chills down my spine because the audience knows what Karen doesn't....and you see Karen's vulnerability with Dan in so wanting to believe that he's changed and that he's made strides and that perhaps they can have a second chance because she doesn't know the unthinkable. Gosh it was all done so amazingly well. If it made you feel uncomfortable...then mission accomplished by the show!!! Stay tuned for the last 3 episodes of this season.... there will certainly be a lot to unpack, hehe!!!

This episode was so powerful......glad you loved it too Dana!!! It's the beginning of wrapping up S4, and there is still so much more left to unfold, hehe. To say it's a wild ride is an understatement. Paul Johansson (Dan Scott) gets the gold star for showing off his unbelievable acting chops as the distressed and turmoil ridden Dan whose walls are closing in on him, and he's suffocating under the weight of all the terrible life choices he's made. Nobody could play the depths of a tortured Dan Scott any better than Paul. His range is amazing at showcasing all the trials and tribulations of this character. A drunk and losing it Dan on the verge of fading in and out of reality is compelling television any way you slice it, and because of the characters complicated depiction....it always makes for riveting emotional scenes, no matter his screen partner. I always felt the doll in this episode was a symbolism for all the innocence lost for several characters of this storyline. The little girl holding the doll in the gun store who happens to stumble into Dan's eyesight as he's trying out the gun and pointing it around, that he then picks up and ends up leaving it on the table in front of Abby....was a deliberate choice to highlight that fact. I always thought it was such a compelling choice, and most definitely fit the narrative of Dan struggling with his choices, which is why he's on the verge of a complete an utter mental breakdown.
