We still didn't get enough Brooke.
Peyton's hair looks much better curly.
I forgot how much I loved Lucas and Karen's relationship.
But I hate how nasty Nathan is to Luke. Yuck.

2024-05-27 22:07:25 +0000 UTCDana.....James and Hilarie didn't have any romantic or sexual chemistry together in playing Nathan and Peyton, and the show recognized it from the start. Of course, chemistry is subjective, and we tend to see what we want to, but let me just shed some light on how the actors felt having to portray Nathan and Peyton having any kind of relationship. Hilarie said right after they yelled cut on the scene of Peyton and Nathan making out in the car.... James wiped off his mouth and shouted out SORGG. Hilarie looked at him and said, "what the hell is SORGG?" And he goes..."it's gross backwards" lol It kills me to this day, lol.... it's so damn funny. And Hilarie was like......"I'm dealing with an actual teenager right now", lol because James was 17 at the time. And then she said that she was always jealous of Joy because her and James always had very tender, passionate, and intimate kisses, and that her and James were like two cobras biting each other's heads off, lol. But their combative nature really worked for the characters of Nathan and Peyton because they weren't supposed to be anything other than a dysfunctional mess, the polar opposite of Naley, so props to everyone behind the scenes for immediately recognizing it, and course correcting to the magic of Naley from practically the start. I mean they knew what they had between them instantaneously, and we got to see it on screen by 1x03....and the rest as they say, is history!!! Now that's not to say that Nathan and Peyton can't portray a platonic friendship, which is what I think you liked in 4x13.....but as far as anything beyond that goes, no way, lol. You can just immediately tell the romantic and sexual chemistry isn't there and doesn't exist between the characters because it's not there and doesn't exist between the actors. And I love your idea about perhaps a cracker jack box tattoo for you, hehe. Wait until you've reached the end of the series to see if you change your mind or come up with something else, but that's an amazing start. Could totally picture it, hehe!!!

I still think back to when Naley had their first kiss and said there was so chemistry. I was just so made at Nathan and so protective of Haley that I didn't want him to hurt her, so I was being stubborn. Lol. Huh. I'm surprised that James and Hillarie didn't have any chemistry. I only say that because I really liked their scenes together in Pictures of You. I will totally take you up on that fanfic authors suggestion! The older I get, the more I love my ships. I'm so excited to read some Naley, Olicity, and whatever our ship name for Jamie and Claire is. Also, probably some Clarke and Lexa too. F/F isn't usually my thing, I'm definitely more M/M or F/M. But I just feel like they'll have really good ones. Yeah. Drunk Dana doesn't remember all the things she should. Lol. A Cracker Jack box might be cute. I tend to like my fandom tattoos to be a little obscure. Ha.

It's been awhile since I've read Naley fanfics so I can't help there, but if either of you are looking for a great show with an equally great ship as Naley. I would recommend watching Outlander. It's unabashedly a romance story. Dana is currently reacting to it and her reactions to it are wonderful.

You should totally do 1x03 next because that's the first introduction of Naley and their famous dock scene, but maybe you can also do every season premiere and season finale as well. Something like that would be neat for this series!!! Okay...so a few quick notes. Yes, Hilarie has naturally curly hair, so does Joy actually...it's just that Hilarie is a natural brunette while Joy is a natural blonde. Haley's S3 and S4 hair is her natural look. I too love Peyton's hair curly and think it's the best look for her. Them trying to lighten it up and go straight really damaged her hair for a long while there. I would have loved to see Peyton's natural color stay instead of them trying to make her blonde, and Haley able to keep her blonde hair at the start. We eventually get there, but it would have been great from the beginning, hehe. Brooke wasn't in the pilot because her character didn't exist yet...it wasn't until the network gave the show feedback after they viewed the pilot saying that they really liked the show and the concept, but it was too dramatic and serious and lacked a comedic component, so Brooke was created to bring the laughs, hehe, but they could have never envisioned the path and evolution that her character took. At the start, Brooke was only supposed to be played for comedy...which is why she wasn't featured much during the first few episodes and lacked a backstory initially. Also, some neat and fascinating backstory on Haley's character.... Joy was a recast for Lucas' original best friend named Reagan, who the network didn't like and felt that character was all wrong for the show. So that actress got the nix, they immediately found Joy, renamed the character Haley and Joy re-shot everything that had already been filmed with Chad and Moira for the pilot. The initial plan was for the triangle to consist of a Lucas, Peyton, and Nathan triangle with the two brothers fighting over the same girl, but James and Hilarie had zero chemistry together to try and sustain that scenario, and it was instant sparks, connection, and chemistry between James and Joy the second she got to Wilmington, so that's how and why plans were altered, Naley was born, and the triangle then became the dreaded one of Lucas, Peyton, and Brooke, hehe. It's always so fascinating to think about what wasn't initially planned for became the cornerstone and staple of the show!!! Lightning in a bottle indeed, and all kinds of fate, cosmic timing, and magic surrounding James and Joy coming together to play Naley!!! And you should totally get a OTH tattoo to match your collection Dana, hehe, although I'm surprised that Naley didn't immediately pop up in your head for what you should get. Either just the word Naley, or Naley inside a heart or something. Always & Forever, or A&F would work too, hehe. You could always go the generic route with simply OTH, or OTH 23, or something like that, but I have a feeling that by the time you get through the end of this series.... Naley will be at the top of your list with regards to your love for this show, hehe. And yes...I predict that you will enjoy many re-watches of this show in your future. Not to mention that yes...you will have thousands upon thousands of Naley fanfics to read when you are done. There are so many incredible stories...it's amazing!!! When the time comes, I can for sure point you in the right direction with which authors to read and follow!!!
