Stranger Things 1X1: Chapter One: The Vanishing of Will Byers
Added 2024-04-03 23:00:04 +0000 UTCI did not realize this was a sci-fi show before I started. I thought it was more of a coming-of-age story. Oops. To add to this, I kind of also want to play Dungeons & Dragons for 10 hours.
While I was watching, I thought the thing that attacked the scientist in the beginning, and Will was the same thing. But now I'm not sure. The scientist seemed actually attacked, and Will just sort of vanished. I have a feeling I'm going to be changing my mind on what I think is happening a lot though. Lol.
I'm predicting that Hopper will end up as my favorite character.
There are so many questions! But right now, my main questions are: what the hell is going on in that lab, and if we have 11, where are 1-10? Are they safe? Stil in the lab? Is 11 the last one?

SO looking forward to watching these when you have the full season out! Netflix shows are designed to be binged and I feel like I've held in a sneeze or closed a book mid paragraph if I don't watch them at once LOL! Looking forward to it!

2024-04-10 12:03:12 +0000 UTCI totally get that. I think this really speaks to how much responsibility Jonathan puts on himself because he took an extra shift at work because he felt he needed to help provide for the family. Which is sad... it's like just stay at home Jonathan and be a kid. You don't have to put that pressure on yourself and work your butt off.

2024-04-07 18:14:53 +0000 UTCI may have been projecting here. Lol. As the older sibling, this was kind of my life. My mom worked 3 jobs, and my dad worked overnights, so I was basically in charge of my younger brother. So, I may have been overly sympathetic to Jonathan. Totally agree. I was concerned that they would end up fighting each other instead of working together to try to find Will.

2024-04-07 13:44:55 +0000 UTCI actually get why Joyce was so upset with Jonathan at the beginning. She's a single mother who has to work to provide for her children. I don't think it's too much to ask her older son to make sure that the younger, more defenseless son isn't alone when he gets home. And I think this episode is a good example of why Jonathan was so wrong to take that extra shift. I am glad though that Joyce ultimately didn't blame Jonathan. I think it shows what an amazing mother she is but I totally get why she was mad.
