While editing this, part of the process is finding the very best footage to better demonstrate how submarines, missiles and even nuclear power plants work. I mostly try to include actual footage, but especially when the subject is so hush hush, I’ll also stumble on fictional footage that sometimes does an even better job showing something.
One clip that didn’t make the cut, as it’s far too unrealistic is this from the series ‘For All Mankind.’ I’ve started watching the show, as it’s brilliantly linking the story of rockets with the thrill of exploration and competition, something that ties directly into the next piece I’m working on for Johnny.
