At the exit

It was a dream you both wanted to achieve more than anything else in this world ... to have the ability to shrink down to the size of mere ants, to become so small you were invisible to the rest of the world ... you both understood why the other person wanted that ability ...

When the two of you learned that drug trials begun, you signed up immediately, even though there were pages upon pages of warnings and liability wavers to sift through, you'd finally been accepted into the trial.

What you didn't notice though was that the trial clearly stated that tests would be done upon you, your body ... you'd signed up to become "lab rats".

Realizing that, as soon as the drugs kicked in, you ran away, effortlessly sliding under the door and into the busy hallways through which you passed upon entering the building.
With your exit in sight, the elevator, you had but one thing to do, wait patiently until someone would call for it and jump inside before it left.

However, at your size, you couldn't just wait for it like a normal person, as you'd surely be trampled to death, so the two of you agreed to wait to the side, then to dash across the hallway as the doors would open, giving you enough time to jump inside.

It was your time, there was nobody else in sight, as you started running, you heard a couple women shout out to the other who'd just gotten in to hold the door. It was too late to stop running, so looking at your mate, you agreed to give it a hail mary and try for it ... hoping for the best.

But as the women approached your friend suddenly disappeared beneath her foot, as you saw a splatter of blood rush out, hopeful you'd still make it, you didn't look back until a shadow began looming overhead, now panicked you could only think of escaping, lest you finish beneath a foot yourself.
