[UPDATE] February 2019

The thin membrane separating this year from last has been penetrated and before us lies the soft, warm embrace of 2019. We're well and truly into it now and I personally can't wait to see what we come up with this year.

January felt a little harder to see through than the average month, due in part to the extensive work put into "Let Me In, M'lady". That was a song that we started many months ago and which almost saw release in December. However, some hard decisions had to be made and the song was delayed by another month to perform some re-writes and add many layers of polish.

It's disheartening to feel like you've made it close to the finish line on a project only to realise the real finish line is miles away. And it can be very tempting to say 'fuck it' and stop where you are, but we wouldn't be the Hard Men Working Hard if we made things easy for ourselves. I hope the final product gives you as much of a thrill as it does us. Just please, make sure you turn that sucker way up. "Let Me In" deserves to be played loud.

But that was last month and you're here to read about this month, so lets get into it.


HMWH 2018 GOTY Edition
You may or may not have seen a separate post detailing our first album release on bandcamp. But in short, we've put out our very first release on bandcamp - a compilation album featuring every track we released in 2018. HMWH Patrons can claim their very own copy for free, so if you're a patron check your email inbox to find a download code!

Some of you may have noticed the absence of "Fat Women" on the album. This was a deliberate choice as that track contains a number of unlicensed samples of copyrighted material and we could not in good conscience attempt to sell it online. However, rest assured that you haven't heard the last of Fat Women...

Let Me In, M'lady (YouTube)
I've already discussed some of the challenges we had writing this track. But in addition to the audio release, we've put together a lyric video on YouTube. We've seen some amazing growth on YouTube thanks to readers like you and we definitely have plans to release more video content in the coming year. Which brings me to...

Kwik Youtube Song
We have a new YouTube segment coming this month from Aciou and Samglaze. The boys have put together a short production video showing you how you can take a short video clip and turn into something special. We'd love to hear your feedback on this one, so let us know if you're into and we'll get some more cooking. Stay tuned later this month for the video.


Mundane Remix
Aciou's been a busy boy this month and has a very special remix of "Mundane Rap" up his sleeve. He's been holding on to this one for a little while and I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that's it's getting a release later this month.


Public Podcast
Last month we mentioned that a new public podcast will be coming soon however we are
unfortunately not yet ready to launch. Please understand as we continue to test out ideas and come up with a formula that works, rather than just shit in your ears. More news on this show to be announced eventually.
