RE4HD showcase + Steam Deck review incoming... eventually

Normally when I make videos I'm not really "playing" and enjoying the games due to worries about whether I'm getting the captures right and that sort of thing, but I loved every second of putting this one together.  I can't recommend this mod enough; I know I said to download it now in the video but if you haven't already gotten it you should wait for the 1.1 patch to release first (probably in a matter of days).

I initially had no plans to get a Steam Deck but the strong demand for a review has changed my mind.  I'll do a video focused specifically on using it as an emulation device- I want to test which emulators work, how well they work, and whether they can be installed on the default OS without resorting to Windows.

I also want to treat it like a Steam Controller 2.0- I'm really interested in how the inputs have evolved and potentially improved compared to the first controller and Steam Index.  The problem is that the Deck is very high in demand and I don't know when my reservation will lead to an actual shipped order, so for now I can only say that it will probably be late spring.

I had planned on getting to work on the next Metroidvania video but I'm considering bumping a gyro aim tutorial up to be the next topic- I keep seeing comments asking how to set the controls up and especially after the RE4 video it seems like there's a clear need for more guides like this.

As always, you can let me know in the comments what you would rather see.  The gyro guide would walk through the main ways to configure gyro aim via Steam as well as with joyshockmapper, and it would also include mini-reviews for all of the current gyro controllers to cover what the advantages and disadvantages of each are.  I'd be just as happy to do more Metroid first, though.

Thanks again for your support

For what it's worth I would rather see a Metroidvania review than gyro tutorial. I know you have been waiting for Silksong before you do Ori 2 and Axiom Verge 2 but for all we know Silksong could take another year

A gyro tutorial would be absolutely amazing. Love the vids!

I was hoping you’d cover the Steam Deck. I’m curious to see if you think Valve has improved their approach to hardware in this case, given that it’s a fairly ambitious product.
