Skyward Sword HD Review - early access

I haven't noticed the glowing sword at all. Also haven't come across the issue with the camera but I did come across an issue with THE VIBRATION. With the vibration on I found the motion controls to be more infuriating. Turning them off resulted in smoother controls overall for any motions. I stopped switching to button controls once I turned the vibration off. Turns out the vibration motors kicking on were causing the gyro to not read any movement. When I start playing it's minor, but after an hour or two (my first play session hit 17 hours) the vibration made things basically impossible to do because they kicked on and the gyro turned off. At least that is what it feels like is happening. Could be the three sets of joy cons I have access to are no good, though they were all new/unused when I started playing.

Was looking forward to coverage about the game from someone I trusted lol. Making fi less annoying is great, because I felt she put navi to shame with how irritating she was, but it doesn't seem like they've done much else id care about. My joy conns are so drift borked I wouldn't even want to bother with the motion control setup, and I've also heard analog sword swinging is so off I wouldn't even want to bother with my pro controller. So yeah big pass for me. I'm sure nintendo will sell loads of these and it'll never go on a reasonable sale digitally like usual though. The amiibo thing can be worked around with those fake ones that can be rewritten from gamestop, but I hate scanning amiibos over and over. it's not a good experience.

Honestly as a guy who adamantly hates this game and everything it stands for this review highlights why I like your reviews so much. I went into this expecting it to be torn to shit and the exact opposite happened and I’m gladder for it. It legitimately highlights positives better than the game itself does and I have a bit of a better view on this game that I’ve hated for years in the span of a couple minutes. I don’t think I ever would have walked away thinking anything positive out of this port as it stands as the gleaming beacon of everything I despise about Nintendo these days if you didn’t give it’s changes proper credit. Frankly Nintendo (ignoring the greed issue here) should be doing this level of care in selling a game because “$60 wii port” is what this game is ubiquitous with now and possibly forever after, and it’d probably be more popular if they could do their jobs instead of forcing others to show the effort that went into it. I’m not gonna buy it, but I am going to cool my hate boner for this game by a lot.

10/10 bug catching advice, can really hear the experience at work. seriously great review though, i haven't touched the original and i'm iffy about that amiibo implementation, but hopefully things will lighten up - i didn't hear if this was a good purchase for ppl who haven't played the game already and either i missed it or that was on purpose, hope when this goes live on youtube the (civil) discussion in comments will give some insight!
