[General] Progress Update

Greetings,

episode 'Fomalhaut' is live and currently there aren't any big issues reported yet. I hope it stays that way :) 

So what's next? 

I want to to a minor release where I address some technical debts that I want to improve or implement. And I want to make a extended variation of the new "movie bath scene". It probably won't be as extensive as other plot related scenes but I think it would be a bit wasted as it is now. In the episode it served its purpose but I think it would be fun to have a whole scene. So I'll complete this scene and add it to the replay gallery. A replay won't be necessary. The replay will be automatically added if the "episode scene" already has been unlocked.

After that I'll start working on the next episode. I have a timeline and a rough sketch for the episode content already with things that have to happen. But it needs some more fine-tuning, some adjustments and of course the final dialouge.

Technical debts

I want to use the time after the update and waiting for feedback to make some technical improvements.

Secret Gallery

At the moment upon opening the secret images menu all images are loaded as full resolution which leads to a lag if many or all are unlocked. I introduced thumbnails at a smaller resolution which will fix that in the next update.

Free roam navigation

The same applies to the small images in the quick navigation view. So I have a thumbnail for every location which should increase the performance in free roam mode. 

Audio-Handling

Feedback for the current episode mentioned that not all audio additions are for everyone's taste. So I'll add more audio channels to split up sounds in different categories that can be controlled separately. Good thing I implemented the technical basis for this in my technical updates on the previous episode. SO this shouldn't take too long and be to complicated.

Other Issues

I want to add short-keys for the different menu's in the SD. I want to improve some background task handling. And I want to review my language / character config handling. I'm still a bit annoyed it's split. I'll try to find a practical way to merge this while still offering the control upon the various character attributes.

Music

A while ago I said I wanted to create videos for my music. I managed to get halfway through but due to prioritization I temporary put it on the side. I hope I will find some more time in the coming days to finish it at least for all currently existing tracks.

I also had another track in the making, but I couldn't finish it without delaying anymore. So this one will have to wait till the next update.
