Greetings,
the render progress was a bit slower this week for a few reasons. One is private and work life and the other is that I adapted my shaders to the new octane render release which took some time. More on that below. So there are 3 scenes left to do and I started one of the bigger scenes.
Octane / Shader
Why the change mid-update while I initially wanted to finish the whole update until I do? I finished all scenes that I started and started to work on the last scenes now (which will take some time). So I tested the new shader options and they look pretty good to me and the shader is more consistent over various light settings while my previous version had always some artifacts in dark scenes or scenes with warm light colors. The new one works in all currently tested scenarios pretty well. And the other major selling point is, it renders faster than my previous shader. However, this comes with a slight trade-off where the shader is a bit more noisy than the other. So I'm trying to balance that a bit. Overall I'll use the new shaders from now on.
