Chapter 6 / Page 23 was probably my favorite page I've drawn in a long time!!! Ananth and I really enjoy drawing out emotions and long silent moments... it's something we haven't been able to indulge in lately since we try to keep chapters around 30 pages (as an exercise in restraint and also to keep work-time for me down since I'm Not A Very Fast Cartoonist, especially since I'm penciling/inking/lettering/coloring all the pages myself on top of a truckload of freelance work).

I've mentioned before, the 3D models in Clip Studio (and also our incredible rigged 3D asset of Leeds from Michael Shilliday) are truly priceless in terms of placement, proportions and perspective but they're not Perfect. One of the weird things I realized while putting this page together is that the standard 3D clip models look really weird when you put their arms too high?? Their deltoids (the muscle at the top of the arm next to the shoulder) don't work quite how they're supposed to on a person... either that or I'm still not quite proficient at posing the 3D models which is also very possible. Also because I have Percy's pre-set model's head set larger than a real person's head, the arms will sometimes look proportionally off when she has her arms up, so I'll have to fudge the length and proportions. Anyway this is a long-winded way of saying: don't entirely trust 3D models, they'll only get you like 70% of the way there!!

This is one of the pages that was a cornerstone visual moment of the entire chapter, we wanted to make the moment last and luxuriate in Leeds' thoughts and emotions for the first time. I hope you enjoyed it!
