Don't ask me why it's called this, I don't know. I needed a name for the document when I saved out the rough sketch, the word came to mind and I couldn't unstick it, so, like I have been doing with this project for the past 19 months, I let my instincts guide me.
Expect lots of layers of glistening shiny, rubbery transparency in this one! I'll see if I can make the garment she's hold up look freshly "Vivishined" ("Vivishone?"). The head-piece design is something I've doodled for years in sketchbooks but realised I'd never executed properly on and certainly not while painting this project.
Yep, if I've learned something since April 2021 the thing that's working best for me in this area of my creative life is to switch off all the internal chatter, self-criticism, self-censorship and trust my gut 1000% and draw exactly what comes to mind - in every other aspect of my work, I'm working to a brief, for someone else, for consumption by the wider public. As 'phetishskin' all those barriers are taken away, and although it took me more than 5 decades to give myself that permission, I'm glad that I did.
I'm also grateful for your support - knowing that there are folks out there who can even relate to the stuff that obsesses me has been a wonderful revelation. But in addition, knowing that you guys are interested in the process so much so that you're supporting me here on Patreon, well, I really appreciate it.
Hope you've all had a great weekend and I hope your start of the week goes well.
I'm about to spend a little portion of my Sunday evening blocking out all the flats for this, as usual so we can get into the painting proper.
(Oh, and coming on Thursday this week, the reveal of the final English Mansion Triptych piece, along with the feature on Ms Sidonia's blog over on https://www.theenglishmansion.com/blog/...)
