The Contessa - Progress
Added 2022-03-21 20:49:06 +0000 UTCI enjoy painting layered, transparent latex - it's a fun challenge to capture the sense of slick, semi-transparent layers that shine and reflect while showing hints of what's beneath.
I also like building up images like this with different bits of clothing separated out as it means more fun variations to play with at the end.
But...it's also a bit of a mind-bending puzzler too - you think you have all your outlines drawn, your layers worked out...and then you realise that her right arm has to go behind all her underwear, while her left needs to be in front...
That hurt.
Next steps - finish the remainder of our Contessa's outfit, progress to the other ladies in the scene and then after that round-back on myself to balance everything out with addition lighting/colour casts and shadows that will pull everything together.
